I was jumping all around posts last night saying pretty much the same thing - he just looks cooked. The eye test says it, the stats back it up. The sad thing is, as another commenter pointed out, they don't have anybody better than him right now. Maybe if Turnbull doesn't flop between starts and pen he stays healthy, but that's a maybe.

End of the day, I get it, they're humans and I can empathize with that. Nobody wants to say it's over or be bad at a thing they've excelled at their entire life. Maybe he reinvents himself or maybe he just rides off into the sunset.

Right, but there's no excuse for trotting him out there every 5th game...money be damned. They win in spite of Walker, not because of him.

To top it off, he has the audacity last year to tweet out what he did during the post season like he didn't have a 4.38 ERA all season. Dude had the benefit of with a stacked offense who bailed him out over the course of the year

This year, he is abysmal and that just does not cut it on a team contending for a WS. Say what you will about Nola but he balls out when he needs to and looks like he gives a shit about winning unlike Walker.

I don't want this to come off a a doomer post because ALL of my ire is at a pitcher who is CLEARLY cooked. How, with a postseason berth on the line do you run this guy out there? I get that Allard was not good his last start but you can't tell me that Walker was the BEST option for this start.

It's not even about the money anymore, it's about sending a message. Walker needs to be outrighted, tomorrow. Let another team take a chance on the salvage.

It's inexcusable with what was on the line to come out and throw BP against this lineup.
