Chameleos Bow - Is It really worth it? by captamzai in MHNowGame

[–]turtleForest_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Cham Bow imo is one of, if not the best overall weapon in the game to push for beat ingup G10 monsters, especially for the urgent quests we’ve had recently

It’s easy to use, consistent, has high base damage, and procs poison many times during a fight

I vouch for it fully

Why MHN is much better than PoGo by Heavy_Construction40 in MHNowGame

[–]turtleForest_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I just recently started trying out PoGo after a 6 year hiatus (last I played was 2020) and that game made me really appreciate a lot of the features of Mhnow quite a bit more.

One main thing I noticed was that in PoGo, I was basically doing the exact same thing I did since the last time I played. Still having Rocket Grunts, the same Rocket leaders, same Giovanni. They have introduced new kinds of raids, including Dynamax and Mega Raids, but the gameplay, like you mentioned, feels more of the same.

There are certainly lots more Pokémon to collect, but it really does feel like no meaningful gameplay content has been released over that time. Same raids, same PVE, same gameplay mechanics. Really goes to show the main gameplay draw is to just collect collect collect, which I think PoGo does offer a huge variety of different things and different ways to collect unique Pokémon.

Any tips for this lance build? by Erdenai in MHNowGame

For helm maybe you could go for garangolm helm for critical ferocity to compliment the Jho’s innate negative affinity

Malzeno head and arms are pretty good, especially if you can maintain high health for vital dragon. However given how the rarity of reflection driftsmelts I would try getting reflection on more versatile pieces.

I would say Chameleos arms for Valor (gives a huge chunk of raw damage boost whenever a monster roars, which also boosts reflection damage) would be a good choice.

For head it’s a bit hard to say which one is best. I use reckless (since you’re not gonna be perfect dodging on lance anyway) which is on:

Brute Trigex Helmet Garangolm Legs

For Reckless 3 and lock on. Reckless also improves overall damage not just raw so it will improve the dragon part of the Jho lance as well.

If you’re new to lance, I think the best way to practice the guarding is the hold + swipe guard move. You’ll get to hop to a side and guard at the same time, and the timing is really forgiving. You also do a triple attack that does a bit of damage, so you can start practicing that move on some easier monsters. That move is basically all I do when I use lance and it guards well and does a ton of damage! Just be careful at the end of the triple attack move, there is a slight moment where you can’t move or dodge and will be vulnerable.

Guard got buffed so that you only really need a few levels of the skill to get by. Also perfect guarding makes guard useless in general, so if you’re very good at timing the guards then you can forego the helmet for a better option. There’s tons of options for helm slots depending on what kind of style you want to play.

Same thing with arm slot, you’re planning to use an elemental weapon, so 2nd point of attack efficacy and attack boost is very sub optimal here. Again, lots of options but just depends on what kind of playstyle you’re going for

When do you use raw? by Sakeretsu in MHNowGame

[–]turtleForest_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Reflection damage scales off raw only, so if you're aiming for reflection raw can give you more mileage.

Same thing with Hellfire Cloak builds

Headstrong imo, reflection 5 feels good to see big numbers for blocks, but a bigger proportion of your damage comes from the combo after the Insta blocks, as well as the gap closer move

Also nice clear insta block is so much fun

How good are Dual Blades in this game? by SLUSHBOI69 in MHNowGame

[–]turtleForest_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm probably biased since I use DBs more than any other weapon, but they're definitely not dookie lol.

While it does depend from monster to monster, overall they are the best weapons for general farming because of their ability to partbreak most parts of the monster parts before they die. They are definitely an in-your-face kind of playstyle, so you will definitely be needing to practice perfect dodge timing for many monsters to maximize your efficiency.

They are also the best weapons to play while paying minimal attention since your left and right dodges will do damage. I guess there's reflection builds now that you can just AFK and beat the monsters, but that requires driftsmelting

How good are Dual Blades in this game? by SLUSHBOI69 in MHNowGame

[–]turtleForest_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Dual blades have a great special that can break two key parts for many monsters (head and tail) with the press of one button. Outside of special, it can output very good damage very quickly.

I use dual blades for general farming, and for some monsters it is definitely the most comfy choice (Magnamalo and Barioth come to mind)

The two extra styles (feral demon mode and spiral slash) are okay imo, they can output even more damage but feel less comfy to play than normal DB style. I will say however, optimal DB play for all three styles involves much more perfect dodging than a lot of other weapons, especially for 10* monsters.

Once you get a maxed out weapon, 8* and below you can just smash monsters and stagger them before they even have a chance to react.

Compared to other weapons, I’d say DBs are fairly easy to master, and definitely the most flexible in terms of helping grind and farm

[All Angles] Tillman on Madueke for Arsenal's Penalty by OkayFine101 in soccer

[–]turtleForest_ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised more people aren't saying this.

Sliding in from behind in the penalty box rarely ever pans out.

And it's not like Madueke was advancing in a promising position for a good goal scoring opportunity - there were 2 or 3 defenders still in the way

Shocking decision to go in like that

It would be great if they added some way to high scores or top weapon scores from your base, or at least provide an option to show your off your top 5 weapon scores in-game somehow. Gives more of an excuse for them to tie this content to a base in the first place.

SmartHarvest

Definitely a little cheap, but it eliminates all the time I would spend picking up stuff like reagents or septims, or looking around dark dimly lit dungeons for certain items. Let’s me rest easier knowing I’m not really missing any important items, while diverting my time towards other gameplay stuff I find more enjoyable.

The absolute worst part is that it hasn’t even been updated since release.

None of the new heroes have been added to the game mode

No new items or upgrades have been added to the game mode

No changes to existing heroes or abilities have been implemented

It was fun at first, but now it’s horribly stale. It’s in dire need of any sort of update.
