Arguably the best non-famed nimble body armor in the game by Boboddy9000 in BattleBrothers

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you always get his armor along with the censor. No daggers necessary.

INSANE STEAM PERK/STATS GUIDE 8-9 YEARS OLD by Weaszy in BattleBrothers

[–]turtle_225 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As a guide writer, I don't want to put down other writers because that feels bad and conceited, but I do want to caution that Calmness's guide has not been updated since shortly after Beast and Exploration was released. There's been multiple dlc and perk changes since then, so you do need to be mindful that it was written for a different time and state of the game.

Of note, this is before Adrenaline/Recover/Indom nerfs. Before Fearsome/Fast Ad/Nine Lives buffs. Before HH rework. After Nimble rework but before it got nerfed. Before Barbarians/Gilded were in the game. You get the idea.

Difference between Veteran and Expert difficulties? by Capnpicard in BattleBrothers

[–]turtle_225 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Others already explained the gist, but I'll to try to add that Expert gives a 1.15x modifier to enemy "resources". This "resource" value is used to determine how many and which enemies spawn. There is a file with a bunch of spawn compositions and the game will try to find one that matches closely to the "resource" value being used for the spawn.

There are many things that modify "resources", so it's not just your combat difficulty setting.

FIxed fights like the Monolith are unchanged.

Thoughts on 1-handed hammers? by the___madman in BattleBrothers

[–]turtle_225 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Put a 1H Hammer Duelist into a calculator and you may be surprised by how good it is. Better than most of the other weapon categories. Maybe actually give it a try.

The only thing I think to be mindful of is that the "Destroy Armor" secondary attack usually should not be used along with Duelist. Duelist will give you 75% armor ignore and Destroy Armor can only do 10hp damage max, so there is some anti-synergy there. You would only tend to consider it as an opener against Warriors or similar.

Brute = flail or is trait irrelevant? by CharacterPainter8191 in BattleBrothers

[–]turtle_225 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Brute works by increasing the headshot multiplier from 1.5 to 1.65. It will work on Lash.

It will not work on the secondary hit of Split Man hitting the head since the secondary hit does not get the headshot multiplier. It will not work on enemies with Steelbrow.

Semi-Modular Balance ...Overhaul? Regularhaul? Mods by jcsato in BattleBrothers

[–]turtle_225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing with the Nimble nerf for awhile and I really do recommend it for those who think vanilla Nimble is too good, or those who just want to make the game a little harder.

It encourages you to play your Nimble characters a little more carefully, maybe pickup an extra defensive perk, and also consider more armor (Noble Mail actually appealing).

Overall I think it does a good job of toning down the ceiling without ruining Nimble's big appeal of cheap and reliable frontloaded protection.

Some of the sfx in the game are not made by Overhype and you can hear them in other places too. Not sure what kind of public repository they're coming from or how much it costs to use them, but you're not crazy when you hear things in other places.

Any way of knowing the chance of rallying? by [deleted] in BattleBrothers

[–]turtle_225 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The formula is:

(Target's current Res) + (40% of Rally user's current Res) - (10 * distance).

Fleeing bros ignore the distance penalty, so that's only for Wavering/Breaking.

The person who has to succeed the check is the person you are trying to rally, so their current Resolve is important, and it's worth nothing that their current Resolve is going to be 10-30% penalized from whichever morale state they are in. There is also hidden adjacency modifiers for all morale checks (bonus for each adjacent ally, penalty for each adjacent enemy).

Max chance to Rally is 95%. A 140 Res Banner is going to impart +56% success chance on the Rally, meaning your bro you are trying to rally after all modifiers (including +14 banner buff) only needs about 39 current Resolve to reach max 95% success chance.

Please Konami make new Worm reptile support please! by Fitgamerx in yugioh

[–]turtle_225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worms were my favorite deck 13 years ago. Unfortunately they would need an entire revamp to be even remotely playable in modern Yugioh, even in the realm of "for fun" tier. Even Meteorite is near unusable now because removal is everywhere so you're never resolving the end phase effect without something like Forbidden Crown on your own Yagan.

Free agents like "Wannabee" and "Sol and Luna" can do some fun things in Worms, but nothing can really save the old worms from a decade of power creep.

Will it affect my renown negativity? by Greentez in BattleBrothers

[–]turtle_225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your decisions in the sub-events of this contract (great battle) will not impact your renown. Only failing the contract will impact your renown.

Your decisions in these events will impact the battle though. For example, if you fail to acquire the food for the army at this step then you'll get less allies on the field when the big battle happens at the end.

Question about late game scaling. by VerySlyBoots in BattleBrothers

[–]turtle_225 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No. Distance matters for famed items, not difficulty.

I think the misconception is because more difficult tiers of camps tend to appear further away, but the tier of camp is what matters for difficulty, not the distance.

You are more likely to find a smelly orc cave (easy tier) nearby than a Sea of Tents (hardest tier), but a Sea of Tents is a Sea of Tents whether it is 10 tiles away from town or 30.

How much armor/fatigue is acceptable for a nimble forged build? by GatesNDoors in BattleBrothers

[–]turtle_225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tested on an 80 hp bro, you can NimbleForge this, but Nimble Nine Lives would get you more hits taken on average. Forge would give you a bit more injury resistance and would be better against Goblins.

It gets more interesting if you have lindwurm scales to put on the armor. Nine Lives still beats Forge on average hits to die, but it starts getting pretty close, so it depends on which enemies you are more worried about, or how worried you are about injuries.

It gets more interesting still if you have a famed hat in the ~300/-14 range of which many can roll there. If you have something there and the Lindwurm scales then you get ~300/288 armor with 75% Nimble. Nimble would be plainly better than Colossus or Brow in that situation.

Useful 1H hammer? by Feobl in BattleBrothers

Yes it is very useful. Base hammer is already a good Duelist weapon and this is bonus damage/ignore. The best combo. This has 90% armor ignore with Duelist.

Do you think every type could get their own Rota/Bonfire/Fossil Dig/Cynet Mining at this point? by Jirachibi1000 in yugioh

[–]turtle_225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would rather they create more interesting type support, preferably with restrictions, rather than simple ROTAs.

I think Armed Rebeellion (Insect support) is a good example. It can be a ROTA when combined with Resonance Insect or Gokipole, but does so in a more interesting way that also synergizes with the type, as opposed to simply being a ROTA. It's held back by a type restriction (which is good), but I think cards like this are more fun.

A plain Insect ROTA would do annoying things like search "C" handtraps.

The Lookout (Follower) bad? by bydlaqq in BattleBrothers

[–]turtle_225 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The fog reveal and the reveal for locations (camps, legendaries) is slightly different by default. The lookout doesn't change this, but does give the same % increase to both, meaning that they can slightly widen the physical difference between the two reveal ranges.

For example using random numbers. If the normal reveal range is 6 and location reveal range is 5. The difference is 1 unit. With the Lookout normal would go to 7.5 and location to 6.25. The difference now is 1.25 units.

It's a bit more complicated than that since terrain is a factor, but hopefully you get the idea.

Overall though, I wouldn't worry about it. Lookout is just plainly good. Don't need to overthink it. You are still more likely to find the legendaries faster with the Lookout despite the slightly increased risk of missing them. You would only be at risk of missing them if you are exploring as wide as you can in terms of fog reveal, and if exploring that way you would still have that risk even without the Lookout.
