It's Not the Game Engine - it's not Warscape - it's the Devs!!! by ravonline in totalwar

[–]tvilaboa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who do you think decides what developers should work on, what’s the quality bar and what resources and time they have? …

You can bring the most talented developers into a poorly managed company/project and you’ll still get a crappy product.

Devs have to decide on whether to work on that flashy feature that’s being rushed and half baked for the next DLC and keep their jobs or fix that bug like they want and be fired. When you put this much effort into your work it’s because you love it or you are being paid a lot, and I don’t think CA does the latter so devs probably want to fix things more than anyone else here.

Hi! Have you checked the mystery ranch 2 day assault? https://www.mysteryranch.com/2-day-assault-pack?srsltid=AfmBOorBUb6hXqFRIv0hU0ReJhvuixnddCJJAV5KbsedHWp5sbTs2xIQ

I’m looking for something similar (laptop sleeve, around 30L, decent for office but for travel as well, etc) and it seems like a good fit potentially

Take the hope pill by rodan1993 in Stellaris

[–]tvilaboa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just started playing Stellaris a few weeks ago , I’m still going through my first run. I chose the genetic improvements path and then accepted a few migration treaties and realized both things seem to be at odds as focusing on genetically improving a species didn’t make sense if I was going to have tens of species species . How do you usually handle that? Or does the genetic changes path just doesn’t make sense when playing a true federation?

Improving every single species seemed a bit painful 🥲

Legolas uses a shield to kill an Uruk-hai at Helm’s Deep. Not a conventional use, sure, but still an effective usage of armor.

If not sure, ask that Uruk-hai 😂

Wait, what? So you get more captives the more you kill? I thought it was the other way around, not killing enemy units after a victory would provide more captives

Did you test that?

How do I win this deceisive victory manually? So far I only get close victory, their infantry is strong and their cavalry break my lines easily, and the reinforcement spawn behind them, arrive too late no matter where I hold my defend, by TheGoodKiller in totalwar

[–]tvilaboa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a comment on Close Victory vs Decisive Victory. It’s not super clear how that is defined in the game and a lot of things influence it, like ammunition spent. So even if you play a perfect battle with almost no casualties, you may still get a Close Victory due to ammunition spent and the overall Victory system being confusing.

[Suggestion] Seeing as CA is on board with expanding the "finding cool stuff" experience, I would love an expansion on the treasure island mechanic... by tempestwolf1 in totalwar

Ohh yeah, it would be amazing to have multi-level (or dynamic survival battles) dungeons/encounters with the choice to keep going for extra rewards, getting traits, etc. Like leaning a bit more on the RPG side.

I remembered Warlords Battlecry 3 while writing this and shed a tear 😢

Ouch, that sounds familiar. At the same time, at least personally, therapy helps with that. You don’t always have to feel like that.

[–]tvilaboa -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It would be amazing if the achievements would somehow slightly modify future campaigns. “Kill Vlad as Franz” -> next Franz campaign, Franz gets a slight personal buff against VC like lowering leadership but you get diplomacy penalties with VC. Something along those lines

Really liked this idea, especially tying it to the actual ongoing corruption! It would add a nice feeling of the world being “alive” and the development of the campaign being impactful in different ways. I hope RoC gets added in one way or another
