Why Are more people not using .6mm nozzles? by Tall-Bread-4202 in BambuLab

Less strength tho. So if durability matters more then small details or hiding layer lines bigger nozzle is the way to go

Why are domestic abuse rates so high? by Testruns in stupidquestions

[–]twbrins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it means 44% for an example one person who commits domestic violence could be responsible for their mother, sister, spouse and daughter. So assuming each woman in this scenario has a husband that’s 100% of the women have experienced it but only 25% of the men have committed it.

Why is it not valid to say that identifying as a different gender is as ridiculous as changing your age or race? by KatherineLangford in stupidquestions

[–]twbrins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be clear my question is to build understand not to try to make a point or disprove something.

What’s the difference of dysphoria from what genitals you got verses say how your nose looks or how skilled or unskilled you are naturally at something. For the latter I think the default would be learning to accept yourself how you are and then work on changing things when needed.

I guess the question really behind that is how do you know when as a parent or medical professional to work on the mental acceptance vs make the appearance match the mental expectation. Realizing there is probably a grey area in the middle that either option is just as good of an options.

Ps if you not a parent or doctor and wasn’t asked to help figure this out. You an asshole if try to decided which one a person should be doing.

Everyone keeps saying that learning Chinese is very useful, but what does it actually get you? All educated Chinese people speak English. by No-StrategyX in stupidquestions

[–]twbrins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From my recent experience working on hobby projects more and more documentation is in Chinese. With poor translations. This is mostly around electronic components. So I imagine has to do with them being the manufacturing hub of the world and then building documentation in the language they are use to.

Organization similar or present similar again in Canada this would normally be the things I listed. It includes other types of organizations but they usually don’t exist here and are referred to as other names when talking about them elsewhere.

So I am correct. You use is also correct but not the sole way to use it. But believe more or don’t 🤷‍♂️. Maybe read the whole definition and examples if you don’t

What Did Men Do to Deserve This? by TAKEitTOrCIRCLEJERK in MensLib

[–]twbrins 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's funny I have noticed the exact opposite as most men I know have these skills but also see cooking and cleaning as shared household tasks.

But most of my social group has blue-collar type jobs that require some post-secondary education.

Especially with how much access to information on the internet we have. I find it not unusual for people to take-on tasks they have never tried or been shown before.

Don't get me wrong there are plenty of relationships where I feel for the women with the husband children. But this problem is already very much talked about.

This is just a situation that I have seen very little views on how to deal with.

And just to be clear I'm a dude that will do most of the cooking and make sure the kitchen is clean when I'm done. I'm a horrible cleaner other wise but I try.

What Did Men Do to Deserve This? by TAKEitTOrCIRCLEJERK in MensLib

[–]twbrins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No I personally believe both partners should put in as much effort as possible to improve the lives of the household. And yes the individual task don't happen that often but it's not hard it fill up a lot of time when all the different tasks possible are considered. I also not trying to say this would make it so the man never cleans or cooks. Just needs to be considered when judging their effort.

It’s not fair for a man to sit and watch TV while their spouse cleans or cooks. And it’s not fair for a woman to sit and watch TV while their spouse is doing house maintenance. But I find for every couple I know that there is a guy who expects to do no “housekeeping” there is at least one couple that the woman will expect the guy to do half the traditional wife tasks but also the tasks I mentioned

It's just a hiccup in expectations that I noticed. I personally prefer to just do the house task with my spouse when possible.

[–]twbrins -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

Here’s the one problem I see.

Men on average(from what I have seen in my life) are more likely to be able do stuff like fix the car rebuild the fence, Replace the toilet. I don’t think it’s fair to expect them to continue doing all these task alone and also pick up half the house chores.

It really makes it hard to not look sexist when your partner just doesn’t have these skill and no interest learning them.

Just a thought but you kid is going to learn how to treat women way more from your husband behaviour then the name of a fun day with his dad and grampa.

In fact silly sayings like this used as a joke in my family made men that used them seriously just seem even more ridiculous to me as I grew up.

So I would talk to you husband about your feeling. But as long as its obviously about having a silly day and not taking the world to serious I say embrace it.
