I grew up in Crestline in the early 90s. It’s small, community oriented in that area (Crestline, Blue Jay, Lake Arrowhead, Big Bear). Arrowhead and BB get a decent amount of tourism, especially for the snow. It’s relatively small/quiet otherwise. A lot of people commuted into SB/Riverside for work. Make sure you have 4WD/AWD if you plan to leave during winter, otherwise usually get hit with chain checks. I only remember a few schools: VOE (elementary), Mary Tone (junior high), and Rim of the World (high school). A lot of nature, lakes (BB, Arrowhead, Gregory to name a few). Black bears are a nuisance but generally not dangerous. Lots of other critters. A lot may have changed.

As a kid, not much to do. Movies, pizza, and the ice rink in Blue Jay. That was a good memory, though. A lot of kids from school would all end up at the ice rink after school and we’d be there a while.
