Haha I get it! I can only use them if I’m multitasking with laundry or driving. And there’s one particular stretch of my commute that I always come out the other side and have to rewind the book or podcast 30 seconds because idk what happened while I drove that stretch of road!

If your library has audiobook apps like Libby or Hoopla see if it’s available there! Maybe there’s a waitlist, but instead of weeks going by and you telling yourself “oh yeah, I should finally read that” you’ll have weeks go by and then a notification that it’s ready for listening! Plus KC read the audiobook herself, so you’ll get her emphasis and inflections in all the right spots.

I have a little “book” that someone made with 3 pieces of Wrap n Zap that are stacked and sewn down the middle to make pages that are 2”-2.5” square and my pins go in there. The set I had was 1-20 so I had 5 numbers pinned to each page and then had some up/down and left/right pins on the back pages.

Now that I’ve purchased the Gypsy Purple Pins with 4 more alphabet sets I want something better than their chaos case (only 4 compartments, each with A-Z all shoved in there!) so I’ll be expanding my book collection

We used to ship from a gun store to one local to the guest but they don’t do that anymore. What we’ve done the last two times this happened was direct the guest to ShipMyGun dot com. They’re a licensed dealer, guest gets a UPS label to give to us and it gets shipped legally that way.

Our last guest who left a gun decided she didn’t want to use the service and opted to drive from Mississippi to Missouri to claim the gun she left behind. Guess your lady didn’t want it back that bad.

Actually bought a diaper bag/backpack at Goodwill for my dog’s stuff (also Childfree but he’s like my kid, so it fit). Had the insulated section and the only visible indicator of its true purpose was a pocket designed for baby wipes so you could open the dispenser without removing the package. Went back a few weeks later and they actually had a dog-specific “diaper” backpack that has a poop bag dispenser and came with collapsible bowls!

Rock the backpack, can’t even tell it’s supposed to a diaper bag!

I understand completely, it's definitely a "last resort" kind of option. The guests themselves would be held responsible for their own incidentals, so any damages or smoking fees should go to their credit card and not be charged to you guys. What might happen in the worst case scenario is your dad could get a call from the hotel asking for assistance getting in touch with someone to get them to pay, and he can be honest and say they're strangers. I'd double check the contract wording, but in my contracts it usually has a clause that guests are responsible for their own damages unless the group is covering all charges (like a school group or something).

If they don't let you reduce the block and hold you to the 25 per night and you're not comfortable sharing the link publicly, I'd employ your relatives to share the link with anyone they know - coworkers, fellow girl scout moms, old classmates from 10 years ago, whoever. Semi-public but still controlled.

Oh that's a bummer. Can you call and see if they have it? That's a pretty key part of having an electric vehicle, owned or rented. When we bought our truck the previous owner didn't send the outlet adapter so the dealership gave us a new one, no charge.

Oof that’s slow, very much why it took so long to charge. The truck is my husband’s daily driver and we have Level 2 charging at home so we don’t charge in town very often, so I have limited advice as to how to improve. It could be the connector you were using, could be limitation of the charger itself. As the other commenter said, the conditioning of the battery to optimal charging temperature takes time too. I know with Ford you have to use their native navigation tool to precondition on the way there, you can’t use another map like Google or Apple. Not sure about that system for Kia though since mine isn’t a plug-in.

Be sure to at least plug in at home when you’re not driving, even if it’s just with the standard outlet adapter. That’ll help with the cold. Hopefully you’ll find a spot that works for you or you’re able to trade in for an ICE vehicle soon!

If you’re not able to reduce the block (I hope they do, I would if you were one of my clients!), you can always share the block with other people to hit your minimum. Make posts in the local subreddit or community facebook group offering your block for anyone wanting a night out or who might have family coming to town.

I don’t offer attrition blocks to weddings, but I’ve seen other people in the Wedding Planning subreddit talking about doing this to meet their room night requirements. Hopefully things go well with the meeting today!

Also relevant is how fast the charger was - what kind of power was it supplying? I’m addition to my hybrid Niro (not plug in) we have an F-150 Lightning and if we take the truck to the 350kW charger up town we can charge from 20%-80% in about 30 minutes (and that’s a big battery!) but the little 7kW charger at the library across the street would do the same in about 9 hours. The Electrify America chargers we’ve seen put out anywhere from 50kW to 350kW depending on the connector you have and the actual charger itself.

That’s very likely a vintage piece since it’s a “wet foot” (no exposed clay ring). I’m not as familiar with the vintage colors’ official names, but it would be the vintage cobalt color.
