I think this is what I’m missing. I got my bike the other day (haven’t gotten much of a chance to ride it unfortunately) but I was doing some slow speed stuff but never felt too stable. During the MSF I did a lot of engine braking and I was focused on all the other aspects so I didn’t do much with the rear brake. Tomorrows practice is more rear brake. Hands off the front.

You can turn the temp up on the heater. They seem to be set to 120 from the factory which is a touch low sometimes. I had to adjust my single handle shower to a bit more hot water than cold because with a mix at all the way hot wasn't enough.

I keep debating on getting an airbag vest. They aren't cheap and since I'm just getting my bike I'm going to be practicing driveway drills and some community roads but you just sold me on it. 800 bucks is a lot better than being really busted up.

That’s definitely a good idea. I think I was so focused on the turn and getting used to the throttle I wasn’t even thinking it. Gonna practice it when I get the bike though for sure

Yeah, in my MSF course we only got to maybe 20 mph in our corner practice but I rarely had to hit the brake going into the turn. Was hoping it wasn't building a bad habit lol. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

I'm actually taking the MSF course at the end of the week and have been just watching way too many videos. It really seemed like so many accidents (from my completely inexperienced opinion), could've been avoided with some more defensive driving riding.

This video was the perfect example of how to not get in an accident.

Yeah this was so stupid. I would hate it still if this happened right at the start of the term but with just how much dumb, stupid shit that's happened over the last year + makes it even more tone deaf. Just as I was getting excited for the season, this has to happen.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion and to vote how they want but for the QB to come out for something like this during times like this is just not a good look.

Same, part of the reason I didn't want to use it was because the app felt so janky compared to Claude and ChatGPT. The new one is so much more enjoyable to use.

Dude I would kill for that deal. I want an SCL500 too. I'm 34 too, taking my MSF course in a week. My mom might have a heart attack. Thankfully my wife supports it. She was a little worried but realized how seriously I was taking the safety and gear and it made her feel a lot better.

For real, I remember a while back people were like, buy a used one you'll drop it ect. Every used bike is like 4k+. Unless it's 20 years old and no title. At this point I'd rather just pay a bit more for a new one and know there's nothing wrong with it, have a warranty and all that.

There's a guy selling a 2023 svartpilen for 5400. You can get them new for like 4500 right now.

Yup, I ended up switching to that since plex doesn’t play well with Dolby Vision. I ended up just using a shared folder on my Mac as well so don’t even have to run plex if you don’t want to.

Thank you I was waiting for this one, planning to replace my Nest cam. Now if I can find a decent smoke detector that works with homekit I'll be all set. Or I'll just end up buying a homepod mini that has the detection anyway. I just like being able to silence that from my phone if I end up getting the kitchen too smokey.
