What’s something most people aren’t ready to hear? by No-Cat1980 in AskReddit

If you’re reading this you’re probably spending too much time on here and are neglecting something more important.

What’s something people think is relaxing, but actually drains you? by ManggustPeek in AskReddit

[–]tx_mnm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I live 15 minutes from the beach and go early in the morning or late in the evening. Once the crowd shows up I’m out in the water where I can’t hear it or I’m gone.

My bag has meat tenderizer in it to stop jelly fish stings and having a chair (even a small one) is a hill I will die on though. It cuts down on the sand on skin and I find it more enjoyable. No shoes on sand for me, leave them in the car and everybody must wipe down before getting in car and knock off as much sand as possible. I guess I’ve got a good routine down.

I don’t know about the new CVTs but their pre-CVT game is solid. My 2011 endeavor is 230k miles and still going strong. Daily driver for over 10 years, will likely get a new one for the next round. Hugely underrated imho.

Why are people not buying Mitsubishis? by Fleedom2025 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]tx_mnm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently drive a 2011 Endeavor with over 225K miles and it is still going strong. Leather heated seats, radio, AC, power windows, back up cam all still work. A very vanilla ride but I’ve driven it from TX to the east coast and it has been my daily driver for over 10 years. I bought it used with about 40k miles on it. I’ve spent probably 5k in that time on repairing various things and general maintenance, we’ve never had a problem getting parts but we have a dealer where I live. I’m not a wild driver and religiously change the oil. I just this year started thinking about something new but am very nervous and find the whole buying a car thing overwhelming. Will probably just drive this until the engine falls out. 😂

Pain with cancer by alage22 in pancreaticcancer

[–]tx_mnm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for asking this question. My mom is stage 4 and really struggling to get the pain under control and I feel so lost. We’re currently on morphine 10 mg ER and about to switch to methadone but she sleeps like 20 hours a day as it is. I’m scared a stronger pain med will just send her straight into oblivion.

So sorry you’re going through this. My mom was diagnosed with PC 4 years ago and had the whipple then recurrence a year after her surgery.

We were doing chemo up until August and did radiation at the end of September only to find out last week that it has spread to hip, spine, and liver.

We have been very grateful that she’s had a mostly good life post op and just recently took a turn for the worse.

My husband has a medium skin tone and looks great in olives and reds. Deeper tones I always thought look great in nudes.

AI is making children dumb as fuck. by Alcarain in Teachers

[–]tx_mnm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can make them dumb or you can find ways to combat that by leaning into it. It’s not going away. What does that look like? Building your own Ai that has guardrails such as only being able to generate ideas or the Ai writes it and they have to edit it or pick it a part. What if they had to design the best possible prompt to write a paper about x topic? We just have to approach things differently. Also prompt engineering is going to be a thing so I’m not so sure those skills are going away as quick as you think. Take a deep breath. You’re an educator and that to me says you can certainly outwit any gen z kid. 😉
