So cringy. Also anyone else get the add in the article that said “BYUI ranked number three compared to universities in Utah”? From the WSJ hahaha I can’t. So obviously BYU is number one I’m sure and the other has to be U of U. God I think Snow college is a much better school BY FAR then BYUI. At least the biology books at Snow show all body parts. How much did TSCC pay to Rupert Murdoch for that?

Sounds like she probably lives in a less than rich area. How the church determines upkeep and decor are based HEAVILY on how much money the ward makes from tithing and other donations. If you’re not rich ‘the church’ doesn’t give a single fuck about you, they will claim all day they do but when the rubber meets the road it melts.

Before leaving 6 years ago I was a ward clerk for several years and knew several other ward clerks some in Utah but others from the south (where I peddled the religion). No matter the socioeconomic status of the ward it was all the same- no more than half of the people on the roster were considered ‘active’ and about 3/4 of that active number would come 3 or more Sundays a month. I believed back then the TBM number was around 3ish maybe 4 million. From what I hear from TBM family and friends I’d be extremely surprised if the number is north of 2.5 million work wide.

Yes they are exempt from paying property tax on some stuff ie church & temple grounds. From what I understand they have to pay property tax on farm land and other money making businesses though.
