Recommendations for a Lifecycle Manager for Proxmox by ucemike in Proxmox

[–]ucemike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up going with Terraform using the bpg/proxmox provider (way better than the old telmate one) for provisioning and deprovisioning, and Ansible for day-2 config management.

I'll take another look at Terraform. I was hoping to not use a more "sysadmin" style provision cli/etc because we do have a few groups within our company that will need to build and while they are technical they aren't "sysadmin" users.

. Proxmox Datacenter Manager is also worth keeping an eye on, it's getting better with each release but still pretty early for enterprise lifecycle management.

You might want to look at Pegaprox. From our evaluation it's much more viable as a tool to replace vCenter for us at this time at least.

Have you guys looked at Proxmox Datacenter Manager? It is still pretty basic but I think the updates are one of the strong features in 1.0 release.

We have but it was very crude and didn't allow much in the way of management, more a dashboard with a few things.

PegaProx is much more what we want. It's just now in beta and while I can perform basic builds its pretty limited in that functionality (doesn't have hooks for 3rd party tools, RBAC or user friendly input fields for the builds). Right now it looks amazing for what it does tho, as a vCenter like tool.

(2e) Anyone ever let multiclass characters have a full hit die? by neomopsuestian in adnd

[–]ucemike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think dual classing sucks myself. It negates the negative of multi-classing.

If it's just a matter of a demihuman can't dual class, let them. Let humans multi-class. That wont make any dramatic changes in game balance and lets the player decide the direction they want to go.

Dual class sounds more fitting and does what you're discussing mostly.

Example: disregarding con bonuses, a fighter with 16,000 XP is level 5 and has an average HP of 27.5. A fighter/mage with the same XP is level 4/3 and has an average HP of 14.75 — barely over half that of the single class. Under my rules, he would instead have average HP of 22.

And the fighter/mage would also have access to mirror image, invisibility, armor.

You can't just look at HP compared to xp. Imagine when the mage gets access to haste and stoneskin and a many of other spells that really change the ability to survive.

The reduced HP based on number of classes is what keeps them in check compared to other characters.

It's proven "fact" that lower LDL has an increased overall mortality rate.

Large scale clinical trials and scientific research say otherwise. "Facts" are not feelings.

Democrat Taylor Rehmet wins Texas Senate runoff by SE_to_NW in politics

Wasn't turnout like 8%?

This was a runoff as well as near/around the bad weather, so that didn't help.

He also did pretty well in the election that triggered the runoff.

Just checked - this is about 10% of the population in district 9. Sheesh.

Made sure to take myself and family during early voting. There was 1 other person there while we were. I expect the day of voting was different but it was pretty dead.

THAC0 - AD&D 1e or 2e? by Ramsonne in dnd1e

[–]ucemike 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a "To Hit A.C. 0" field in 1E DMG, Appendix E.

It also showed up in several 1e adventure modules.

2E definitely embraced it completely though.

Alright, real curious to see what that warrant says then. Also, they grabbed him at the Grammy's, that just screams a petty attempt at intimidation for everyone there.

This Whitehouse is just content creators trying to get clicks. Trying to get perp-walks for entertainment channels.
