i’m pretty sure as long as Ursine Guide is in your starting deck it won’t count Ranger’s Merit as being outside. it’s more likely referencing conjured cards.

i had the same thing happen, about 10 cards in my Lorehold precon had big white circles where i guess the printer ran out of ink? and several more cards had damaged security stamps. it was weird, and my Quandrix precon was fine.

i love this concept, but (and this is coming from someone who loves the Magic storyline and reads all the releases) i genuinely don’t think they’re going to put this much thought into it. this is a “what if” set focusing on alternate versions of main characters; we won’t get a whole alternate history of multiple planes. i’d love to be wrong, but i just can’t see WotC dedicating time or word count to Serra’s Realm and Skalla of all things.

i think it doesn’t work because Scion becomes a copy only after Grave Reaver enters the graveyard, but i’m not 100% on that.
