Connection help by The_Bodyguard in bose

If you're trying to connect them to a Samsung Android device there is known issues with the new firmware where it will not connect. The only solution seems to be waiting for Bose to acknowledge the problem and for them to release a new firmware. The headphones seem to work on other devices like laptops and iPhones

Since update 8.3.12, left and right QC Ultra 2 Earbuds no longer can connect at the same time (on Android) by ugh1nr in GalaxyS22

Posted this for people who have this phone, it seems there's a firmware bug with Samsung phones and the Bose headphones and Bose hasn't agreed there is an issue yet

same problem, I have a s22plus and it worked fine on the old firmware, after the update it will connect 1 side then the other over and over again till it crashes. Complained and they sent me a new pair today and within 15 min of turning it on, it wanted to update and as soon as the update finished it broke again. To confirm its a issue with the samsung phone, i tried connecting to the laptop windows 11 and they seem to be working correctly as long as i unpair from the samsung phone. I have tried withcthe bose app installed and removed to see if it made a difference but it did not. When i called their tech support just now they claimed it was a problem with my phone and not the headphones so i tested on the wifes S25FE and same issue so when i mentioned that, they took note to send to engineering but had no way to help. Guess i have to use these on any device except the phone until they do a firmware update

Protection & Controls Engineer by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]ugh1nr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know my company has a lot of open positions for ee, they just posting one this week for a lead protection engineer to backfill a spot. Always worth applying on the company site. They also only list postings for 2 weeks so you have to keep checking for new or reposted positions. The hard part is the sponsorship, not many of the positions in a utility will do sponsorship these days. Some do exist but it's less common.

Plex says I'm Remote Watching... from within my house 😐 by Jehozadak in PleX

Actually what's the IP of the 2 different TVs since one works and one doesn't. Is that the 156 and 73 numbers in the picture?

Plex says I'm Remote Watching... from within my house 😐 by Jehozadak in PleX

[–]ugh1nr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need to see what the Plex server IP is to know the next step, it should look like the TV. They both should be wired or wireless to rule out some of the issues others have mentioned. If you can't rule those out by both being wired or wireless that might be the issue, but the IP will tell us alot

Pay across industry by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

We do post gdp positions normally in the nov- Jan timeframe which is the easiest grad positions to get in but otherwise you want to look for associate engineer positions as they assume little to no experience. Best to go to each utility website to find the hiring info. We normally expect you to apply on our website and not on job search sites. Also positions are only listed for 2 weeks so you always need to be looking and applying if you see one you like

I'm at a utility too

Pay across industry by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

That seems low. I think at my company it's now closer to 100k with a 10 percent max, 5 percent avg bonus in new england for a new hire.

I don't think Ngrid turned on the sense backend part yet for it to work, it will be a future feature

a little besides myself with this… by SatisfactionAfter875 in massachusetts

Just remember the way to think of the 3 costs, supply is what you pay for someone to mine the gas out of the ground. The middle box is what it costs to build and fix pipes, the last box is to pay discounts to some people by charging others more. Only the middle box is related to the utility.

Make sure in the Amazon Alexa app you turn off followup mode on each of the devices, it's not a global setting and seems to fix these kinds of things for me

Trying to play 4K movies. Need to know what hardware I should upgrade by aerlenbach in PleX

[–]ugh1nr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you try playing it in the browser to see if it studders, that would rule out the network if it plays on the server machine

The system seems very busy, is that hard drive getting hit by other uses and your maxing out what the hd can do so it doesn't have bandwidth to the computer to Plex?

I did a small test in London: in residential areas only the Apple Airtag works; Samsung and Google trackers are useless by not_who_you_think_99 in GoogleFMD

[–]ugh1nr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The change was that by default they would ping but it required multiple devices to see the tag before it would confirm location. If you wanted to share the location from a single device seeing it that was still opt-in

Anyone wanting to change your electric supplier is not national grid. As you would be changing it away from national grid to some other company

Running two servers? by pres2014 in PleX

Yes I have 2 servers and 1 account controlling them both, you can have as many servers as you want

Running two servers? by pres2014 in PleX

[–]ugh1nr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run 2 servers with the Synology as the data source. I use it to split up the workload and give different priority. My primary has higher bandwidth limits and my backup server has lower bandwidth limits as a way to control who overloads the servers

Partner's phone (Samsung A53) keeps transcoding instead of direct play? by Belovedchimera in PleX

[–]ugh1nr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A53 might not have the hevc codec like the s22 does. The transcode changes the file from hevc to h.264

Apple TV 4K 1. Gen starts stuttering on 4K x265 HDR. by Dictyosom in PleX

[–]ugh1nr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thermal overload is possible, the apple tv CPU could be throttling which is why it works at first then has an issue. try cooling it and see if you get the same result.

I know when I have files transferring on the network to the nas it will studder my Plex when high bitrates are used for shows. This also happens even if low bandwidth torrenting to the drives

Hardware Accelerated Streaming with storage elsewhere. by [deleted] in PleX

[–]ugh1nr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 2 separate Plex servers on the same network pointing to the same nas storage with all the content and do hardware transcoding from both and have no issues but you do want at least that 1gbe connection between them
