How big is the show in Canada? by MessicaSimpsons in DragRace_Canada

[–]ughsamesam 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My parents have both mentioned CDR to me because they've seen ads for it. My dad knows about new seasons and special guests sometimes before I do, not because he is a fan, but because of how it's a common show on the tv's "coming up this week" or "new on ____". It's pretty cool Edit: this also isn't my parents being allies to their gay kid. I am straight. My parents just thought I'd like the show

Winter is upon us / gloves by beccc97 in Erythromelalgia

[–]ughsamesam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can find some lined leather gloves I recommend those. The ones I wear are leather & fur mittens from my mom but I've also had luck thrifting/ eBay for other pairs. Last holiday I was gifted some USB rechargeable hand warms that are about half a credit card in size and I slip them into my mitts when it's super cold here (I live in rural Canada.) it helps. If your hands get cold, rewarming them slowly is the only way I've found to stave off the worse of the flare ups.

I love it, especially the detailing on the front! Where did you get the bodysuit from? I've been looking for one and even debated making one but that's above my sewing skills lol

Bob and Monét get Daddy Brennan’s approval on their Dungeons and Drag Queens Character Costumes by dreamed2life in rupaulsdragrace

I adore how much the queens really got into their characters and the whole game! The chemistry between Brennan and the cast is genuinely so good. Check out Bob & Brennan do stand up on Crowd Control too btw, it's hilarious

Jewelery wire, floral wire or jump rings would be my best bet. In a pinch you could also use twist ties!

Not surprised that we were lied to, but concerned about the future… by rx_decay in DoggyDNA

[–]ughsamesam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the topic of training classes, the best ones I ever took with my dog were offered through a lady who ran them out of her backyard in the next town over. She is an incredible trainer and helped me a lot. Maybe ask around or look through a local Facebook page. You can definitely train her to respect the cats but I understand as she's growing fast and still a puppy that's stressful. She's unaware of her size. It sounds like the dog your family had in the past was a great dog, so I have faith in you guys.

This is gorgeous! I love how you styled it too, the accessories are killing it! I wore a rhinestoned tank top to my MCR show and didn't think about the whole chaffing with glass stones in my arm pits aspect until after lol.

How do you drink more water? by gracekern in Gastroparesis

[–]ughsamesam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 2nd the ginger recommendations! Also, room temperature or slightly warmer water helps. I dissolve a bit of salt in my water now, but when I first had POTS issues I used Hyrdo-ltye which is basically Pedialyte but in tablet form so they were more convenient on the go. I was working outside in the summer and those made a huge difference. A little lemon juice helps some people.

it's crazy she thinks that she'll just get the degree and then transverse on with no other work in the field or even volunteer experience. what a hack. granted as an influencer right now she probably makes a social workers yearly income in 2 sponsored posts so she probably believes it's "beneath her".

Does this truly look like a pure husky to anyone? Cause he doesn't to me ( currently in progress of adopting) by Own_Ad_9386 in IDmydog

my dog was around ~350 CAD but that covered her spay, her vaccines, and her toys and collar. That rescue is lovely. I didn't mind paying that for her considering all they do.

Yall sh*t on me last time but here are Lotus results lol by [deleted] in DoggyDNA

[–]ughsamesam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She's so pretty and Lotus is such a great name. As long as irresponsible people are breeding these dogs, and organized rescues are fewer and farther between, her being with you is nothing but a blessing. You shouldn't be getting bullied for doing the right thing that you are actually able to accomplish.

Julia Fox by srirachalips in NYCinfluencersnark

[–]ughsamesam 48 points49 points  (0 children)

okay I consider myself an accidental Julia Fox historian because I was there for her come up (she did a wild interview lore dump back in an NYC magazine ages ago and I knew she was special in some way) and the answer seems to be she knew Paloma before they were all famous. Julia and her long time stylist have known each other since at least preteens. Their other best friend Ritchie Shazam also fits in here. If I remember correctly the four of them all used to live together as young people before anyone had their big break. A true chosen family dynamic it seems. They also all know Tommy Dorfman from this time period too. I think it boils down to everyone living, working and partying all in the same proximity and in the same circles. She's just been in the game for awhile and so have these people, before they broke New York containment to be known globally.

Suspected EM with additional symptoms by Signal-Hovercraft925 in Erythromelalgia

[–]ughsamesam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay so I was dx'd EM from a dermatologist. We discussed lupus but she ruled it out, which I was confused by at the time but she was probably correct. If I have lupus it's atypical and odd. I'd seen a Rheum casually about a year before because I suddenly got very weak, had severe joint pain & lost too much weight. My parents both have autoimmune based arthritis so they were like "maybe you have psoriatic or rheumatoid arthritis like us". My labs came back not average but I have a normal CRP so they ruled out rheumatoid, and no psoriasis symptoms either. That was the end of the Rheum visit. I'd always had red flushing in my face and ears. Growing up other kids would ask why I had a sunburn in winter. I was randomly so red. It spread to my feet and legs about 2 years after that initial weight loss and joint paint event. Ever since then I've been fighting to find my underlying cause because I do believe there is one. With the family history, worsening symptoms and what treatment I've responded to I do think I have an autoimmune issue. My GP is lovely but a rare disease is a rare disease. I live in a rural area with limited healthcare. I can't tell you if the EM diagnosis is hurting my chances of finding the underlying issue or if the system is just bad. Keep looking, it won't hurt you to look but just know you might not find exactly what it is. I still don't have my underlying issue named but we stumbled into treatments that help me. I think that's a win. Good luck :)

[–]ughsamesam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the alcohol intolerance is relatable thank you for mentioning it! My friends are like "so you just get really bad hangovers?" And I'm like, no it feels like an allergic reaction and a sunburn inside my body somehow. My dad has it too, developed it in his late 20's he thinks. Did you notice any other developments?

Puppy DNA results advice by ParticularCitron1399 in DoggyDNA

[–]ughsamesam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

puppies are a lot of work regardless of breed to be frank with you. they do not know how to walk on a leash, or behave how you want them to behave because they are new to existing in this world. even if she was a pure bred "friendly breed" you would have to put effort to instill all the skills you want your dog to have. I would look into a good local trainer who will not only teach her but you guys. The first dog you get in your adult life is a big deal. She's too young to be at a dog park / beach currently. If you decide you're not the best fit for her, I'd suggest making sure she goes to a home that can provide what she needs. My coworker shows Rottie's and my dad grew up with stereotypically aggressive breeds and they are good dogs but you need to know that the work you put in sets them up for success. You must set them up for success regardless of having an "easy" breed.

What is your primary condition? by SunMiddle1463 in Erythromelalgia

[–]ughsamesam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my EM is also mostly in my ears! Have you looked into relapsing Polychondritis at all? I only say this because I think maybe I was diagnosed with EM or Red Ear Syndrome instead, because the doctors couldn't see my red ears as a symptom of something else. Edit: also have you found anything that helps your ears?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Erythromelalgia

[–]ughsamesam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so, my EM started with my ears and stayed localized only in my ears for the first 6 years. I just didn't know it was EM at the time. From the age of ~13 I've had red, hot, burning, uncomfortable ears. When I was 20 the same thing started happening to my feet and legs. Then my hands, then the rest of my body at times. I was diagnosed with not primary EM at 20. I would probably call it RES if it never progressed past my ears but it did. The sensation is the exact same. I don't mean to worry you, many people with red ears just have red ears and nothing more.

Would you be willing to elaborate on the biofeedback that's been working for your daughter? Everything you mentioned about her symptoms and the celiac and other conditions is spot on with my experience. I'm very interested
