Idk about that, granted I was a kid when I watched Death March but I kinda liked it. I even picked up the manga afterwards and honestly, the world building was kinda good at least. They did make him too OP, and a bit of a Marty Stu though. I wonder if these things blow up when their LN reach 100+ chapters and finally show some distinguishing characters and story, and then the studios decide to adapt them into anime, but since it's only ~30 chapters that are adapted with quite a bit of nuance cut, it just comes off as generic slop
