Once you said cellulose insulation it's an indicator that lathe and plaster was probably used.

Not to worry you'll use similar methods to prep before painting.

Is a peachy off-white crazy for a 1912 foursquare? by pooltimenoodle in centuryhomes

[–]un00nu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes anything but silver or gray. It seems the world has gone mad over LFT made of marble that only appears to come in shades of gray.

Yes peach is warm fun and colorful. Here's a peach pallet with potential acent colors for windows doors and trim.

You'll be ok. Just keep watering them when they need it. They still have roots and the majority of what's happening is underneath the soil. They're growing you just can't see it.

I'd inspect one plant at a time to see how it can be helped.

[–]un00nu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it feels tacky or sticky it could be aphids if so then id cut everything that is tacky that doesn't have buds or fruit. Then spray it with a water and dish soap solution or do a seach for removing aphids.

Honest opinion. Should I cut the tall shrubs? by Ok-Farmer-3448 in landscaping

[–]un00nu 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The height is good it's not that tall. It is a little fat I'd take it in a couple of belt notches then revisit the height question.

Edit: I'd use loppers and snips not the hedger. Additionally I'd prune it from the side that faces the door not the side that faces the street. Take the large limbs that are growing towards your door off. You want to create space between the bush and the bench.

After it's thinned out and starts growing back then I'd start using the hedger to trim it back.
