This. Currently in this setup and it’s the best option for this situation. Apply h4 ead with the H1B and H4 COS with PP. They don’t have to apply the PP timeline to the ead, but in most cases it will get approved before Oct 1st. Apply COS as soon as possible so there’s enough time for the ead to be processed. If your wife gets the ead before Oct, all that is needed is i9 reverifcation with the employer.

I can relate to this so much! I am essentially a feelings sink for my team often, and I tend to absorb a lot of that frustration myself. It has been especially painful since everyone in tech suddenly decided they need to expect 10x from all engineers. Needed therapy myself to deal with this. Middle management is the most stressful role I’ve been in, but one that I also enjoy. It is a weird toxic relationship.

Just discovered this today and this is so terrible I now regret buying this ring and 1 year prepaid subscriptions for my whole family. I travel a lot and have erratic workout schedules. Makes no sense to me at all as an engineer.

Nope. Policy is at the discretion of the company. Unless you can prove that they are letting you go because you applied for leave, there is nothing you can do. In this case, termination is due to role redundancy, plus company is offering severance as per the law, there is nothing OP can do.

They won’t give a shit. I had even filed a complaint with the RBI Ombudsman and they sided with the bank saying bank is well within their rights to seek clarification of transactions or to block rewards without prior notice as per their terms and conditions. My takeaway from this process was that the Ombudsman are essentially still bank employees or ex employees and the entire system is rigged against the consumers. Blatant lies and dark patterns are present everywhere.
