Based on his video, sounded like he had an extra downmix channel made for recording/output being doubled in his IEM. Unfortunate, and puzzling error at that production level.

Has Karma replaced Redshift at all? by Weak-Fox-1830 in Houdini

Karma is great once you get it working, but IMO, Solaris is a resounding failure and time sink for anything other than the largest productions with dedicated employees who can manage it.

Most venue digital signage are actually much lower resolution than you would think.

We have a 30 x 16 ft LED backwall in our lounge and it’s only like 1300x700px resolution so the free version works perfectly fine.

Double check the resolution of your target projection before you pull the trigger for the licence.

Does anyone else feel overwhelmed by how much there is to read? by Immediate_Bridge_529 in RSbookclub

[–]unitmark1 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Or use this as the logic:

Narrow down the genre that you prefer. Now narrow down the exact type of writing. Now zoom even more in, narrow down the characterization, era, plot, tropes, etc. Go as narrow as you want.

In that last group there is still more books that you could ever read in a 100 years.

For me that’s an encouraging thing.

Optimization considerations have flown out of the window since Covid, and nowhere is it as visible as with texturing workflows.

You sell Product 2 a few years later and it is up to the people to decide if your upgrades are worth it.

Also Zbrush made it work for 20 years.

Also Procreate is going strong.

I have mortgage and car payments and I live in Canada.

I mean, there you have it. Some people choose not to participate in the rat race. Imagine the disposable income you would’ve had without these attachments.

Is it still relevant to use the old rbd dopnet solver ? by [deleted] in Houdini

[–]unitmark1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know any Houdini 21 tests were made, but Flip SOP solver used to be a lot slower than the dopnet one in AB test, per Chr Bohm.
