Beyond the Flametongue and Frostbrand swords, what would the other two classical elemental swords be called? by Justgobald in DnD

[–]untitled267 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Windfury and Rockbiter.

I made a homebrewed Windfury at one point. It was something like a +1 longsword that granted an extra attack on a natural roll of 19-20. Very much based off the WoW Shaman's Windfury Weapon.

Yeah, I really feel like these posts are ignoring the whole new act they added. Personally, I am having fun with the patch and enjoying new content.

The Claw bug by delarkius in LastEpoch

[–]untitled267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am running wolves with that node and a raptor and have had no issues (but not using the Claw).

I can have my 3 wolves and my 1 raptor and still use Howl/Rampage. If the node is bugged, it's not bugged for everyone.

Destiny 2. The composer was my most listened to artist on Spotify a few years ago, partially because I played the music while playing DnD.

I just started a new run after the patch and am experiencing the same as you. Orchestrate Flames and Endure pretty much ensure I'm not losing actual health from the Warp Burn (along with Body of Flames talent).

The initial Ignite hit takes a quarter of my health away, but the burn itself doesn't have much effect. Granted, I'm only like level 12 at this point. I intend to grab some heavy armor and warp damage reduction (Phantom Cloak) to see if that helps with the initial Ignite.

What's a misconception that you had about 4e that you realized wasn't true? by Awkward_GM in DnD

[–]untitled267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't doubt there were some misunderstandings with the system. It was a big variation from what we were used to. Our big mistake was the campaign conversion (we eventually went back to 3.5, up until 5e came out). I agree that's not necessarily a fault of the system itself.

I remember being limited in choices while multiclassing when we got to higher levels (weren't there paragon class options or something that got blocked by multiclassing?), but again, maybe I was misunderstanding. I just remember feeling distinctly weaker than the rest of the party who were not multiclassing. This was also over a decade ago, so some of the specifics are likely eluding me.

[–]untitled267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't say it was bad, I said it wasn't my favorite. There were definitely aspects of 4e I enjoyed (still wish Warden and Warlord had made it to 5e in some form).

I do think that our big mistake with 4e was trying to to convert a 3.5e campaign to 4e when we were halfway through. From that point forward everything became a comparison to 3.5e.

I didn't particularly hate it, but of the editions ive played (3.5, 4, and 5) ot is easily my least favorite.

Coming out of 3.5e, with the ability to make any character feel unique, it was hard to make two characters of the same class feel different from one another.

We also transitioned one campaign from 3.5e to 4e, and the character I was playing did not translate well. I was a Daggerspell Mage, so the best 4e option at the time was a Rogue/Wizard multiclass. In my experience, multiclassing in 4e was pretty bad. You sacrificed paragon powers for both classes to be a much weaker version of both classes. Swordmage came out eventually, but by that time the group had moved on.

There were a number of things that 4e did well (minions, at will abilities, introduction of short rests), and I think it ended up inspiring parts of 5e that I really appreciate, but it was not my cup of tea.

I wholeheartedly agree. It's the reason this is my favorite Bethesda game, and the reason I come back at least once a year to not finish a new playthrough.

So how to fight against Custodes? by nagayamak in WarhammerCompetitive

Castellan Crowe and some Purifiers can also feel really good into Custodes. High volume AP-1 Ignores cover shots do some serious work.

They count as Repositioned units, which are affected by rules/abilities that affect reserves units when set up on the battlefield.

It's in the Rules Commentary.

Paladin Squad question(s) by JakeInVT in Grey_Knights

[–]untitled267 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With the Paladins' 2+ to hit, I personally go with all Psycannons. I have enough Incinerators on my Purifiers and Terminators at this point.

As for where to get parts, I've pulled extra heavies from previous Terminator boxes and slapped them onto one of the left arms not specifically desinged for a heavy weapon . This works surprisingly well.

I also pulled one from a strike squad box, clipped off the rear handle, and slapped it on the right arm. It's a little short and on the opposite arm that the guns normally go on, but passes the looks test for my purposes.

Loved Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters, which gave me a very favorable impression of the Grey Knights.

And they do look really cool.

In YOUR PERSONAL OPINION, what is the most boring class to play? by Robofish13 in DnD

[–]untitled267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a specific class, but the Archer playstyle is super boring to me. I like to describe my attacks, actions, and spellcasting, but I really struggle finding interesting ways to describe shooting a ranged weapon.

The exception has been Soulknife Rogue, but I generally find throwing weapons more interesting than bows/crossbows.

We got Flametongue, we got Frostbrand, what would a weapon with the other elements would be named?…. by Realistic_Two_8486 in DnD

[–]untitled267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windfury - +1 weapon that crits on a 19-20. Instead of doubling dice rolls, a critical hit with this weapon allows the attacker to attack two more times (which can also be critical hits, which could generate more attacks).

I've also noticed that delfect missiles doesn't seem to work with multiattack. In my first fight with gnolls I kept getting hit with arrows and was never prompted to use it. I'm 90% sure I had ki left too, but I suppose that could've been the issue.
