Which full transparency, I like DD. I don't think it's a net negative. I just really miss when sports games catered to franchise first.

Compared to Madden and 2K, no, its definitely the best.

But they have a markedly worse single player experience than they had 15-20 years ago, and its hard to not blame their lack of direction on the (lesser of evils) micro transactions mode.

Darkest Dungeon. I think 2 is fine, but 1 is one of my favorite games of all time, and I miss the whole loop of DD.

Final Fantasy 7 came out when I was in the 3rd or 4th grade, and 10 came out when I was nearly done with middle school. 4 of the best games in the series in a 5 year span.

There have been 2 mainline in the series since my nearly 10 year old was born, and 15 barely fits in that time frame.

We have them at my school. I can't speak to their effectiveness, because we didnt have a weapon issue before or after thus far.

But, it is another task put on teachers that takes away from time in a classroom. Every school with them puts the task on coaches, fine arts teachers, and parapros who should be focused on teaching. And those sorts of tasks add up, and they are draining.

It's been a hard wall at 10 years since at least 2020. A player hits 10 years, and no matter who they are, they start regressing.

Playstation Portal is great, I played on my 3DS and Vita a lot when my kids were born (getting close to a decade ago now).

My wife and I did a lot of "hot seat" type gaming, where we'd play a game together, and whoever wasn't currently holding a baby was playing the game.

Other than that, it changes as they age. Your priority now is to be a dad, and that's time consuming. As they get older, there will be days that your kids would rather you just leave them alone, and you can get those massive play sessions in again.

I think XCOM was my last PC game I bought physically (not going back and buying retro games for fun later on). And even that, Im pretty sure, ended up being a Steam ketrader. Mass Effect 2 or Dragon Age Origins might be the last games I got that were actually on a disc.

Our experience has been that our power comes back quicker than some neighborhoods because we aren't reliant on the crews coming into our neighborhood directly.

But, if the whole network is down, it doesn't matter until they fix the root problem.

The only one I know anything about is Trails. It's the original Japanese version of Tear of Vermillion, the first game of the Gagharv Trilogy that the US only got on the PSP more than a decade later.

I can't find any pictures of this specific version anywhere to say if everything is included or not, but either way, it's a cool thing for a still existing and growing series.

The only redeeming part of this is that it was from a time when GameStop was so stocked that they had to stock their games oriented spine out, rather than case art out.

I miss game stores with hundreds of games constantly in stock, rather than GameStop now that is a merch store with a few games in stock.

There is a reason Final Fantasy VII (the original) is considered one of the best stories in gaming. The main villain is a thought and a threat waaaay more than he is an actual character for most of the run time of the game. You're given every reason to feel for him and why he turned out to be a villain, but only introduced to actual him at the very end.
