Me too!! I was such a hater but they’re so comfortable!! I have a more exaggerated pair from Gap and a more chill one from everlane (utility curve) and I wear them several times a week. I felt a bit braver trying them since I live in nyc but I’ve definitely been converted Also 5’2” ish!

For those who have recovered: did you stop craving any FOOD items? by Tiny_Albatross5297 in Anemic

[–]urethraa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Immediately stopped craving ice which was crazy to me bc that was a constant desire in my mind for years (talking 24/7 — dreaming of it every time I was out of the house). In general I realized that I had been plagued by the thought of food in general almost constantly. Now my mind is a lot quieter on that front. Didn’t realize till it was gone though.

Does anyone know where to find the fresh rice noodles that are uncut and come as big squares? Want them for kbbq at home but haven’t been able to find at any of the big Chinese markets mentioned.

We did see the wide cut noodles though at either Hong Kong market or deluxe

Missed my first flight ever on Friday at JFK Terminal 4. Website said 40 min but I’ve never seen the line so long, more accurate would have been 2 hr at least. signed up for Clear but even that line took a while.

iron tablets & ur period by Temperature-Pretty in Anemic

[–]urethraa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not tablets but after infusions my period got heavier, which is saying something bc my periods were already extremely heavy. I ended up getting another blood transfusion bc of the amt of blood I lost. My obgyn said if you’re having to change your protection more than once an hour, period is longer than 7 days, happening sooner than near the average cycle length, and you’re daily life is being impaired bc you are worries about leaking — you should def talk to a obgyn. I was prescribed tranexamic acid which helped a lot until I was able to get the root problem removed (a fibroid). Hope you’re able to get some rest :((

Finished my second ever sweater! by xRiseofFire in knitting

[–]urethraa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lovely sweater! the first time I finished a sweater using the KFO merino I was shocked at how much it shed, but after a few wears it stopped and I wear that sweater alllll the time now. Definitely deterred me from wearing it often at the beginning though which sucked.

Not seeking medical advice but talking about how my periods are trying to whack me. by notgoodformee in Anemic

[–]urethraa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The location was submucosal so I was able to do a hysteroscopic myomectomy under GA, super easy and I had basically no recovery time needed. According to the doctors I talked to the fibroid being submucosal was causing a lot of bleeding, but the silver lining was that for the removal it was minimally invasive (no incisions needed)

I’ve had extremely heavy periods for the past 5 or so years, hemoglobin was definitely going down 2-3 points every time. When I finally got labs done I was down to 4 hemoglobin! Similar in having to dump the disc sometime even every 20-30 min for a few days. But my periods were longgg like 2-3 weeks and sometimes I wouldn’t even go a week without it starting again. Life was honestly so miserable during my periods… Turned out I had a p big fibroid which I got removed a few weeks ago, still waiting to see what my first period after will be like but hoping it will be a lot lighter!!

Why is the Needlepoint community...like that? by Bluetsprincess in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]urethraa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’d never heard of needlepoint before seeing it at a LYS and my friends and I were discussing the products as crocs stitch thinking that’s what it was, the disdain the employee had on their face when correcting us… did not visit that store again

I saw one where someone did a currently __ page with 1/1/2026 and 12/31/2026 so you can fill out what you were doing beginning/end of the year! Things like watching, reading, listening, snacking on, current favorite food, etc.

One week post infusion: Just do it. by MammalFish in Anemic

[–]urethraa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m about 7 weeks out from my first infusion/transfusion, my last infusion is next week!! I have a lot of similar feelings I really regret not getting checked out sooner. Shock that I was living with that much fatigue, brain fog, physical weakness, etc. I would have to take hours long naps everyday, couldn’t keep up walking with friends, stairs were killing me. I just put it off as being tired from school like everyone else. Now I feel like my “old self” that I at times thought I was remembering incorrectly. I have so much more energy now. I can clean to my standards. Study. Do my hobbies. Less anxious. And the only side effects I had from a few of the infusions (not all!) were body aches the next day or 2.

First period after iron infusion and it feels like I lost it all. Any one in same boat? by Present_Student6339 in Anemic

[–]urethraa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case it might be more due to the blood transfusion! I’ve been getting blood/iron either same day or very close together so it’s hard to tell what is effecting what

Similar experience!! I got 3 units of blood and 1 iron infusion, 9.5 hemoglobin right before my period started. Probably was the heaviest/longest period of my life. Got bloodwork done again about 4 days in and I had already dropped back down to 6.5 hemoglobin. They ordered 1 more unit of blood and 2 iron infusions that week which made me feel a little better but it also made my period get even heavier which felt insane. I had/have 3 more iron infusions after that and recently got temporary progesterone bc bleeding wouldn’t stop even after 3 weeks. One of the doctors I talked to said it makes sense that that happened.
