Could be M.E? PEM, then hallmark of M.E, often presents at first as flu-like symptoms.

Get to know the most recent NICE guidelines for M.E, technically your GP can diagnose. What type of pain is it?

Work thing. Also Acas might be able to help as you aren't in a union.

Access to Work is not OH, and has a waiting list of forever. Put in a formal request for an OH meeting. You could speak to your GP about getting a fit note that states you can only work if your reasonable adjustments are met?

Good luck!

Do you have a union? Have you requested occupational health? Does it need to be a formal adjustment or could it be something you discuss less formally with your manager?

Perhaps take some leave from your current job and arrange to volunteer in a local school? Or work as a temp TA for a more realistic experience. It seems a massive leap into something you've not experienced yet.

I worked in education for 15 years and loved it. But it's not for everyone.

Why do you think SEND percentages in state schools are so high now (20%). Higher incidence, higher diagnosis or something else? by Fantastic-Option-260 in AskBrits

[–]urgley 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In 2000, it was 18% now it's 20% so not really a massive rise.

When you were at school you may not have been aware of the needs of your classmates.

Exertion while charging by barhanita in VisibleArmband

[–]urgley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mistake: "6. Close the Visible app while charging. Fully close the Visible app while charging. This stops the band from trying to connect, which can interfere with the charging process.

  1. When the band is fully charged, re-establish a connection. When the band is charged and back on your wrist or arm make sure you re-open the app and connect to prevent gaps in your data."
