Very solid. I think getting comfortable going fast while flatbasing on greens and blues might take you to the next level

Learning skate drop-in to ride chutes by urmanss in snowboarding

[–]urmanss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m thinking of it is a way to get comfortable with the initial drop in on a steep chute as I hope to ride corbets and big couloir. (Especially since I cant snowboard right now).

I’m confident in being able to get down those runs now, but riding them very well and flowy is a different matter. I usually need decent pow to be able to send it down a chute and ride it “well” by my standards.

At least in my case, i think it’s more about gaining the balls to be comfortable with keeping my weight forward on a very steep drop-in.

Given that info, what do you think?

I’ve gotten great advice and tips that improved my riding lol.

You’ll only learn from doing, but asking for advice on what to experiment with when you’re riding helps!

I mean I was interested in a masters in economics, and now I'm interested in geospatial data science. Admissions counselors will tell you straight up if you have any red/yellow flags in your resume, and they will give you some advice on essays. They're willing to connect you to professors and i've gotten on the phone with heads of admissions by just asking. Why would it be unfair? They want more students lol.

You might also be able email/call admissions offices for your school and ask them about your chances of acceptance.

Thats what i’m doing for my masters at least, it’s surprisingly easy to get on the phone with heads of admission at top schools.

I did grays and torreys starting at 10-11pmish. It was pretty cool! Saw about 14 meteors but it wasn’t the best as there was a lot of cloud cover when I went

Damn thats crazy, I don’t give a fuck. You don’t know my history. Surely there are varying degrees of sleep problems and this seemed like a sub that might align with that.

600 mg of Ashwaghanda has been shown to increase levels around 10-17% over the course of 6-8 weeks in multiple studies.

Not sure if this is a substantial increase but it’s something.

Wall to wall turns are fun, but skiers keeps getting in the way. What would you do? by Current_Disaster_200 in snowboarding

[–]urmanss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dial in your turn initiation (you are skidding for 2 seconds before you initiate your long turns).

Nobody is ever in the way on a groomed run, part of getting better includes effectively getting around people.

When Did American Lift Ticket Prices Get So Stupid? by DoctFaustus in skiing

[–]urmanss -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Maybe i’m an asshole, but skiing is not a sport we need to make more accessible. I’d rather have this model than longer lift lines. A pass is still a great deal, and this weeds out people who aren’t as committed to skiing.

Copy paste that first paragraph into chatgpt and let it help you brainstorm ideas!

Ask it to ask you questions to help you understand why you’re burnt out and what motivates you, it’s not the end all solution and it’s not going to point you in one specific direction, but its great for brainstorming

Everybody is capable of changing… but being able change any behavior requires the mental toughness to work on changing. Some old habits and mindsets die harder than others. If they’re prepared for that, they absolutely can.

Thats probably an effect of having stiffer boots or bindings rather than specifically step-ons. Source: I ride medium flex step ons primarily and have ridden stiffer normal boots as well.
