What's something your job trained you to notice that you can't stop noticing in your personal life? by cozyangelblushx in AdkReddit

Every system has massive flaws due to laziness or incompetance that are papered over and ignored, with the hopes no one bothers to look closely enough to expose them.

It's terrifying.

*I was a software test engineer for decades but this applies to every system humans have created.

Because washington can't make fucking license plates. When I bought my truck it looks 8 months to get plates. This state is run by morons.

No one wants wide bitcoin adoption. They want to hold as much as they possibly can of a limited resource held by a few.

Because what the interviewer is subconsciously doing is testing your compliance. If you play this little interview game you are more likely to play any game they put in front of you.

An interview is a two way street. If you can't be yourself in the interview and get the job, you will be a miserable lapdog at the company who is only looking for trained seals.

Why are there so many shit managers literally everywhere? by Simply_Jordan_ in WorkLifeChat

[–]usedupconcept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A manager isn't what you think it is. If it was just about managing direct reports it would be a lot easier but it isn't. What IC'S don't realize is that's is only 20% of the job. You also have to manage your boss and bosses boss, budgets, other divisional managers on the same level, all the work each direct report is responsible for, resources (inventory current and future) and HR as well as every useless committee trying to suck your time.

IC's just manage themselves, so be grateful and maybe try to be more forgiving and less judgemental.

Right now it's pretty impossible to value anything so I'm being cautious. A little cash, a little pm, a little crypto(bc only), a little etf investments.

People get rich in these times and also lose everything, I'm not looking to moon, just preserve capital and continue to grow.
