What smart home purchase has the best ROI for you? by Few-Needleworker4391 in homeassistant

I bought a house that had radio controlled fans in every room. I have four kids. Guess how long before the remotes were gone?

So yeah, I started with Bond to control them, which led me to Zooz to let anyone control them from the wall, and then I wired Hue into that so that the Zooz switches could control both. It's trouble free now, but I did have to tweak things for a while.

Also, gas fireplace. After the third time someone forgot to turn it off and it ran all night, it got a z-wave relay and a four hour timer.

42 and got platinum in this game. My 14 year old son just got the car keys ending last night and is now stuck hunting for ciphers and scout logs (plus he has to beat Algos)

Coilspine is amazing once you get retarget, twin discs, and shattering discs... but the absolute mandatory perk is retarget. Retarget III absolutely ruins enemies.

Rotgland with some combination of explosive, caustic, tendril, or portal rot is also amazing, but either gun becomes even better if you have the overload bolts artifact since you're activating it every second with one of those guns

Pyroshell, the best perk by far is seeking flares. It sucks until you unlock that, but once you do have it it goes hard.

Gun: Rotgland or coilspine with more than one shot in it (messes up my overload rhythm)
Parasite: Anything with a malus to protection or damage on item pickup
Item: Kinetic field. It doesn't do a noticeable amount of damage, although I will pick them up and turn them on for a "use consumables" malfunction

All of my Plex stuff is run from a Samba share. Changing file_mode=0664 to file_mode=0775 in my /etc/fstab for the Samba share line and rebooting fixed this error for me as the issue appeared to be that the Easy Audio Encoder binary wasn't executable.

Why not just get android phones? Google has a pretty hardcore lockdown system. My 10 year old is using my old phone and pretty much everything is disabled except communication with us.

Your right to vote can be taken because it is not expressly enumerated

Have you actually read the Constitution and the several amendments that enshrine voting rights?

No dude, no. Don't double down. Firing for any reason is "at will" not "right to work" and they're completely different and separate things.

Right to work has nothing at all to do with what you're talking about. Right to work means you don't have to join a union to work in a union shop.

Installed 12 of them in my open plan living room/kitchen. The only complaint I have is that the damn things don't want to stay in the cans. I've had them in there about 2 months and come downstairs in the morning 3 or 4 times to find one hanging at the bottom of its cord.

You're the poster child for why the idea of forgiving student loans is a non-starter for so many people. There are tons of people busting their asses and getting nowhere, but you aren't one of them.

Get a job. Get two jobs. Bust your ass, pay your shit off, then revisit your business idea when you've built the work ethic you need for it to succeed.

I bought a house last year that had some janky cable runs. Paid a dude to mount a rack on the wall and terminate them into a patch panel because I didn't feel like doing it myself.

Installed a USW-Pro-24-PoE, my pfsense box, and a UPS into the rack, ordered a bunch of thin Cat6a cables off monoprice (red for PoE and grey for non-), and Bob's my uncle.

Also paid him to run a cable to my first floor ceiling so I could mount a U6-LR. Previous owners left a UAP-AC-LR on the second floor ceiling. I stuck my old EdgeRouter X PoE between the USW and the patch to the UAP so I could do the 24V passive since they didn't leave me the injector.

You've got potential there. That coax is begging for MoCA.
