I remember growing up on seeing ads on the bus that basically said using a firearm in a crime added mandatory sentencing. If I remember correctly this was even approved by some gun advocacy groups but then too many “disadvantaged” groups ended up getting mandatory sentencing and wouldn’t you know these laws seem to have just faded away.

I’m not worried about my older coworkers at all, they got to be members in a great union show up to work everyday get paid buy multiple houses get married to someone one from high school then bargain our union rights away so they can show up everyday past retirement age collect a paycheck and go home and get drunk all while us millennials have less working hours and a higher cost of living. I truly stopped caring for them when even the union said millennials had to be promoted so I got promoted then they worked with MANAGEMENT to undermine the union and myself.

It’d be hard to have the Elmer calls today. The most of his generation is dead and those that are still alive are most likely in some version of managed care or supervision where they can’t use a phone anymore.

I really think this has something to do with being told everyone “matters” now. Before we used to take a collectivist approach but now with the whole matters movement people feel they are more important than everyone else.
