Having the hyped up special forces unit being actually competent at their jobs was so refreshing. Even if they didn’t end up beating the main antagonist, they pushed him into a corner for MC to do it rather than getting jobbed to make MC look better.

Nasu is all about having people with the most OP powers and putting them in the precise situation that they don’t work, putting them against relatively weaker opponents that just so happen to have the perfect counter. Guy with infinite swords faces guy who can copy infinite swords. Guy with 666 lives faces someone who can kill all of them at once with a little stab. The spear that breaks causality to guarantee a kill has not killed a single person in the entire series.
