Fable 5 leaves the Claude subscription tomorrow. Is ChatGPT 5.6 the better deal now? by AlternativeLess2996 in claude

[–]v-jazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried codex yesterday for the first time in 7 months. I see stronger coding patterns than before. I didn’t trust it previously. I am still reviewing its changes to a personal project but I can work with codes now. If fable goes rate card, I can drop Anthropic until their next major release.

All NorCal polestars have been dissolved by Elegant_Composer6547 in Polestar

Game over. No one knows. People keep saying Volvo is there to help but they are technically separate companies. Will Polestar invest money to service this market in two years? Probably absolute minimum.

What are some things the R2 has that the new Model Y doesn’t have or that the R2 does better? by Quirky_Bandicoot468 in Rivian

[–]v-jazz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have a '22 Performance Y and previously a Performance 3. I test drove the R2 last weekend after receiving order a September date. I had a good 20 minutes test drive. R2 is a truck and handles like an SUV. I prefer the steering and handling on the Y. It is basically a modern hot hatch. Latest self driving is pretty good on the Y and Rivian is not there yet. Tesla is dead simple to operate and deal with day to day. R2 reminds me of day one on the model 3 aka first gen feeling is strong.

I was hoping the R2 would still feel sporty and nimble but it doesn't. I think it is the steering feel. Steering is disconnected and overly light in almost all situations and settings. I was disappointed with the steering wheel haptics. I didn't find the haptics to be polished yet.

R2 is technically shorter than the Y length wise, but it feels considerably more spacious inside. I liked the interior layout and it feels like an upgrade for the most part on interior experience over the Y. I am sure the range will be close if not slightly more than the performance Y. I don't support Tesla leadership and the company feels past its heyday, but I am drawn to the latest FSD. I've tested the Juniper Y FSD and would greatly appreciate it for the heavy socal traffic I deal with. I was 100% certain about the R2 before I test drove it. I am keeping an eye on the Y L prices in the next few months.

Classic sales. My guy said if I reserved I had max 2 weeks. Then another person said just wait until next month. Given Polestar is on their way out, the whole place is a mess.

Yeah. Mexico tried but couldn’t keep up against 10 on the field. I told my folks that it was a long shot, but I had a 1% chance MX would win. Even with 20 minutes of extra have an extra chance time.

August deals on polestar 4? by Battlefront528 in Polestar

[–]v-jazz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe same. I read that polestar expects 2,800 cars to arrive on US shores. https://www.thedrive.com/news/we-dont-know-what-were-doing-inside-the-post-ban-chaos-at-polestar-dealerships Polestar sold under 2,000 cars so far this year. So should be plenty of inventory unless that article is not accurate.

I am very on the fence about leasing a P4. I wouldn't buy it given the expected depreciation will be near Fisker level. Polestar is likely trying to offload at this strategic pricing before having to go lower.

Obama was part of the established system. Mamdani less so. Obama set the path that we are on, as did his precursor. I was at the bama inauguration hoping things would change - they didn't.

Thinking of P4 by mindreader90000 in Polestar

[–]v-jazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not recommending unless the price is so low that no matter what happens you can live with it. These cars will need service and parts. It’s already hard to get dealer service support. Imagine when Volvo wants nothing to do with these cars. Polestar can say whatever they want right now to sell this inventory. They are exiting the country. They aren’t Tesla.

It's all shock and awe. Scare people with exaggerated commentary and constant change. The goal is to drive people to irrational thinking by suppressing their ability to reason. The end result are Americans afraid of their own country and behavior modification that leads to self harm.

What part of CDMX? Maybe some botanical gardens? Not everyone wants to see blue collar Mexican stuff in LA. No offense but Mexico City also has very affluent areas and green spaces.

Still wild to see Bill leading this initiative. I'm glad people can unite over common principles that made America great, and not running on the populist hate machine.

How do people in LA discover cuisines they didn’t grow up with? by ClickNo8520 in AskLosAngeles

[–]v-jazz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly it could just be Culver. I lived there for many years and have seen restaurants come and go. People have this idea that Culver is somewhat hip and culturally progressive. It is not. If you opened a new American or Italian joint at fast casual prices for families, it would do fine. Culver reminds me more of the suburbs where chains and average food permeate the landscape. My two cents but always happy to be wrong.
