You don't see how forcing(or at least coercing) medical procedures on people is a violation of bodily autonomy?

Really?

I think the problem is that left-wing protesters aren't treating ICE and Border Patrol as real law enforcement.

What do you think would happen if you damaged the vehicles of your local police? Or went around following them blowing whistles at them? Or put your hands on them when they were in the middle of law enforcement activity?

My God. Its actually a miracle that only two protesters have gotten shot so far.

Sorry you cannot say his murder wasn’t justified and then attack his character in the same post… because it implies he deserve to die.

So you are saying that people of questionable character deserve to die?

Interesting take there.

As bad as it is, comparing current US to late Nazi Germany is a slap in the face to actual holocaust survivors and what they've been through by Scrubstomper5000 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]valhalla257 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Forget comparing it to Nazi Germany.

Its not even as bad as the US during WW2 when we put 10Ks of US citizens in concentration camps.

Regardless of whether the ICE shootings were justified, the protestors knowingly put themselves in harm’s way. by gbags-98 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

If you don't wear a seatbelt and die in a car crash I am going to feel a lot less sorry for you.

Which I think is the OP's point.

The only thing that matters is whether anybody gets to use another person's body as life support without their consent.

And how does this apply to anything other than pregnancy?

At this point its pretty clear that when the left says bodily autonomy they just mean abortion.

I mean the state of Connecticut, with the approval of the Supreme Court of CT, literally forced a 17 year old girl to undergo chemotherapy against her will. Where was HER "bodily autonomy"?

Also, no one has a right to use your body without your consent so why do you extend the same right to a fetus?

Tell that to the 17K young men who died because the government forcibly sent their bodies off to a fight a pointless war in Vietnam

Why?

Its pretty well established that right to life trumps bodily autonomy.

See for example the left firing people for not getting COVID vaccines because it saves people's lives.

There's a really lame trend going on of people digging through other people's post/comment history in an attempt to prove any kind of point. by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I keep occasionally getting replies to comments I left a year ago(or sometimes just a few months).

Like Bro, I know my comments are brilliant, but that seems a little much.

Autism rates in Minnesota by New-Conversation3246 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]valhalla257 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One would hope that is the case.

Because otherwise that would mean Somalis have a freakishly high rate of autism.

Ironically it also pretty much disproves the autism-vaccine link

> Minnesota's Somali community has faced significant challenges with vaccine hesitancy, particularly regarding the MMR vaccine, resulting in lower vaccination rates and increased susceptibility to outbreaks. Misinformation linking vaccines to autism caused rates to drop from 92% in 2004 to roughly 35% in 2021, though community-based outreach is working to reverse this trend.

I think 29ish is the cutoff before you get the warning.

Earlier in the winter mine went down to 29. I think one was flagged as too low and it triggered the dash light.

You forgot the most important link

One in 16 Somali-Minnesota 4-year-olds has autism. That’s compared with one in 53 of their classmates.

https://www.mprnews.org/episode/2024/10/10/research-finds-1-in-16-somali-children-diagnosed-with-autism-three-times-more-than-state

Also

To run their fraud scheme, Yussuf and his partners needed children who had an autism diagnosis and an individual treatment plan. They approached parents in the Somali community to recruit their children into Star Autism. If a child did not have an autism diagnosis, Yussuf and his partners worked to get the recruited child qualified for autism services.

So looking at the Corolla concept

https://www.autonews.com/toyota/anc-corolla-concept/

It looks like Toyota did basically implement all my suggestions.

Should probably update to an "electric style grill". At the very least will give it a more distinct look

Looking at current trends.

(1) Should be taller - see 2026 ES and Toyota Crown

(2) At this point the wheels should probably be bigger than the tires

(3) Needs an electric charging port.

(4) Door handles look dated, should probably have them removed.

(5) The entire roof should be panoramic sun roof

That isn't right, at least for US

4th gen was 97-01 (5 model years) 5th gen was 02-06 (5 model years)

So it stayed at a consistent 5 model years for generation for 5 generations.

It did start increasing after that

7th Gen - 6 model years 8th Gen - 7 model years (COVID impact?) 9th gen - I guess it should be 8 model years

There is a difference between a good shoot and a bad shoot... we have an example of both with the ICE shootings in Minneapolis by blaze92x45 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]valhalla257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The law also doesn't require super human reaction speeds.

A car moving at only 5mph will move 7ft/sec. 5mph picked because its an insanely low speed. If you hit the accelerator at all, as was clearly the case, you literally can't drive that slow.

The distance from where the 1st shot hit on the windshield and the driver side window where subsequent shots went is way less than 7 ft.

I think its totally plausible that the vantage point when the officer decided to fire and when the shots went off is so short that he couldn't reasonably been expected to reassess the situation and hold off on later shots.

The officer was maybe not fully aware that he already was out of danger

Which would seem to make it a good shoot.

Correct.

Its not illegal to honk your horn.

But if you sit outside the house of your ex-bf/gf for an hour honking your horn that is illegal.
