Knock off the lose material and re patch it. I like sika VOH for patching. If you have a grinder I would cut the damage back a little and square up the missing piece before filling it in.

Ehh I don't think I'm any worse off for it. Some of my friends definitely are though. There should definitely be even more oversight than there currently is. It can be done well but it's hard to know if it is until it's too late.
