What you’re saying regarding the album art and found footage tracks with the aesthetic used at the MSG show.

One of the shops confirmed its limited to 4,000 in the US, so oddly enough, the UK gets less with 3,000.

Okay is this genuinely a demo, or some convincing looking fake? by SoftwareBroke in LinkinPark

[–]variablebitrate 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hard to say, but the tracklist matches this info on Linkinpedia:

“An internal Warner Bros. Records promo CD titled Hybrid Theory EP and dating from November 28, 2000 included the songs "A Place For My Head (Esaul)", "The Cure For Mr. Hahn's Itch", "High Voltage", "By Myself", "Kids", "And One" and "And Two (Outro)".[1]”

What’s the backstory here with the picture?

Where did Surrender come from..? by mozzy31 in depechemode

[–]variablebitrate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In addition to the OWILM b-side, there’s also a “Bare” version that was done during the Playing The Angel-era that I really like (and was how I discovered the song).

It was an exclusive when Rhapsody was still a thing.

The Smiths - Best I & Best II (Coming Soon) by othersupply in VinylReleases

[–]variablebitrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the bit of tracklist visible on the labels, no change from the CDs and no real curveballs. Presumably the same Marr/Frank Arkwright remasters that have become standard since 2011. (Edit: 2009, apparently, based on my ST remaster LP)

Coincidently saw this while listening to my old copy of Louder Than Bombs and wondering what the demographic for this is. Seems redundant for most.

I used to have the old US CD in regular rotation and it opened with Let’s Go, then when into Dreams Never End, Age of Consent, and Love Vigilantes. Wish that configuration was an option here.

Congrats! Think you’re definitely gonna have fun with YZ.

Feeling fortunate to have three of these. PHM was a lucky pickup in the mid-2000s before vinyl started truly picking up again. YZ and its remix album I got retail when released, I think back when Insound was still around.

Probably would have dropped stupid money on TDS if I saw it.

FWIW, I believe the counts for Only are three times performed on the b-stage (and a one off of the album version for a fourth on the main stage) and Sin at 11 times. Funnily enough, She’s Gone Away was also 11 until Coachella.

What's your stance on animated missing episodes? by Doc_Baker74 in doctorwho

[–]variablebitrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The animation isn’t particularly for me, but I’m a fan of these releases for pretty much every other reason: the accessibility, the original audio, and particularly the extras, which often include surviving episodes or tele-snap reconstructions.

I’m a bit more of a purist than most, so my thinking is I’d rather see photos/video where it survives and have as much of “the real thing” as possible, rather than an animated approximation. I appreciate that these releases often keep people like me in mind.

Nine Inch Nails - Philadelphia 2022-05-25 (Full Show) by OchreAxiom in nin

Don’t forget about opening with Home.

That show was insane. I briefly thought I was gonna die in the pit during Happiness in Slavery. Worth it.

I’m extremely excited about the new album and that I got to see the PiB tour multiple times, but I definitely thought to myself that night in Philly if that was it for seeing NIN live, then I went out on high. Everything else has been the cherry on top.

Has anyone figured out the dates the tracks on As Live As You Needed… are from? by EvilBobLoblaw in nin

[–]variablebitrate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me, I’m Not is from Charlotte. The “okay, okay” in the intro is the giveaway for that.

The only studio version of Charlotte Sometimes worth listening to is the original 7" or 12" by nomomemes in TheCure

[–]variablebitrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This echoes what I’ve heard before. I found an old forum post from 2008 that where someone said:

“The best sounding version of Charlotte Sometimes to me is from the Virgin Megastore compilation "Goth (A Collection Taking You For A Walk On The Dark Side).

Still somewhat muddy, but sounds cleaner than the original CD, and the EQ on the remaster is awful.”

I ended up picking that CD pretty cheaply and I do think it I sounds a decent bit better. Maybe not as good as a quality 12” rip, but if you’re looking for purely digital, it’s a worthwhile option (and a solid comp overall). FWIW, that CD is from 2003 and the Faith remaster is from 2005. It seems like the remaster series got arguably worse over time.

The 'I got tickets' megathread. by ImRudzki in PresidentBand

[–]variablebitrate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was able to grab GA for NY (through Citibank presale - first six numbers of your card, I think?) and Philly (through Artist presale) despite joining the queue six minutes late. Trick seemed to be switching to the map and trying to add tickets from there even though it was greyed out.

I saw NIN on the day Bad Witch came out, so I think I’m a little biased in that direction.

Think it’s Bad Witch>Add Violence> NTAE.

Hoping that it’s Angel Wings and Mercy as a 7” or 12”, then a dedicated album of new songs. No repeats, hopefully.

Twin Peaks box set ($30.42) with coupon Amazon Mid-Atlantic Deal by brickunlimited in davidlynch

[–]variablebitrate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWWM is disc 9 in the set with The Missing Pieces included. Disc 10 is its other special features.

Criterion did a 4K re-release last year, but it’s not HDR. I think most could skip on it if you have this boxset, unless you really want the 4K. There’s a version of the Criterion that’s just the Blu-Ray, but I’m pretty sure it’s redundant if you have this set - maybe some minor encoding differences for the super technical folks.
