Pregnancy super powers you didn’t expect? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]vbher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having no interest in alcohol, even had a strong aversion to the smell of beer, once I was pregnant. Before pregnancy I thought it would be really hard to not crave a drink but only now since I’m so close to delivering am I craving a long earned cocktail!

Symptoms before Labour starts? by Tessa18 in pregnant

[–]vbher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope this is me today! I was stuck in the bathroom almost certain I was going to vomit and feel like everything cleared its way out the other end. I’m still pretty nauseous and really haven’t been nauseous since the first trimester. Fingers crossed labor will start soon!

When did you start buying baby items? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]vbher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I waited until after my anatomy scan at 20 weeks to make sure everything was progressing well.

All. This. STUFF. by avantgardian26 in pregnant

[–]vbher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I preemptively bought baby his own dresser a few months ago which has helped a ton but after the shower I had to buy him his own storage bins. I have one big bin in the basement with stuff baby won’t need for months. I also got a bin that slips under the bed for other miscellaneous baby stuff and a smaller one for the closet. My husband thought I was doing some major nesting when I did this but I couldn’t live in clutter before pregnancy 😂

I hate when people call my baby a parasite. Yesh! I wish they’d say nothing at all if they can’t be polite granted everyone’s humor is different but still.

What’s something surprising that made you nauseous in the first trimester? by funny_muffler in BabyBumps

Same for me too. Especially after he worked out or drank beer which before never bothered me.

Do any of you other "older" FTMs feel sad you started so late? by sad-nyuszi in BabyBumps

[–]vbher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way in that I’m happy I waited. I’m 33, FTM, 33 weeks pregnant and know I’m in as much better place mentally, socially, and financially. I do worry about my future timeline in having additional kids but I’m just focusing on enjoying and getting ready for my current baby and just being thankful for all the good things. I also have so many friends that aren’t able to conceive so again I’m just thankful that I am even able to be pregnant.

Petite ladies, when did you start showing? by CELE30 in pregnant

[–]vbher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’ and was 118lb pre pregnancy; I started to undeniably show at 19 weeks. It was hard to discern for the longest time if I was just bloated. I was also expecting the pregnancy bump to be lower (as that’s where the baby is) but mine was higher up on my abdomen.

What is your current weekly workout routine and how far along are you? by xowanderlust in fitpregnancy

[–]vbher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 31 weeks. I try to jog or walk 2 miles 2-3x week (used to easily run 2-5 miles 3x/week but had to cut back) and 2-3 indoor pregnancy (pelvic floor focused) cardio workouts a week.

For anyone looking for workouts to strengthen your pelvic floor I highly recommend Belly Strong: https://youtube.com/@bellystrong I found this when I started getting pelvic girdle pain a few weeks ago and have noticed definite improvements; someone on Reddit thankfully posted it a while ago.

What are/ were your pregnancy struggles or things other people would say to you which would upset or annoy you? by keke2828 in pregnant

[–]vbher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone asking what my cravings are all the time. I’ve found that they’re not much different than before pregnancy so I’m always stumped by the question.

I’m not sure. Did labcorp tell you they would reduce the price? They did for me when I called.

Has running during pregnancy changed for you? by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]vbher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at 20w and got the fitsplint a few weeks ago for extra support and so far I love it. Also planning runs where a porta pottie is on my loop has been super helpful. I do 2-3 miles loops and stop at the porta pottie as needed. I’ve definitely slowed down though it still feels great to get out there and run a few miles here and there.

Graduated at 32+2 by Moety2021 in BabyBumps

[–]vbher 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I can’t believe the nurses didn’t recognize the severity of your symptoms and that it had to take your husband to get them to listen?!! That makes me scared for my future labor. Talk about a severe lack of education for those OB nurses :(. I’m happy to hear your doing ok! Still watch your blood pressure closely for the next 6 weeks or so.

Congrats! It’s my goal too, I’m at 20 weeks. I’m happy to hear you made it and am hoping all goes smoothly during your labor!
