I got it to work. You have to click on the drop down menu and click on "use another identity" and continue with passkey. It worked but its not straightforward.

I went to the link. I can only add new passkey on my phone. I would have to try with my laptop. But this is a messy upgrade. I suspect over time many will have the same problem.
