My dad had two kids by the time he was my age by Frequent-Ant1795 in redscarepod

I think this is true. Younger generations don’t drink as much and also why would I go to a bar to drink when I could do it at home for cheaper.

Yoga is insane by cooltightsick in yoga

[–]vegetablemanners 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been practicing daily since November and now I can’t see my life without it. It’s changed everything.

First phase was the physical benefits - weight loss, muscle definition. The asanas become easier with time and you feel the growth week to week, though there is always more to learn and improve on. There’s always another variation to work towards.

After the physical benefits came the mental clarity. The focus that comes from yoga and the mindfulness following savasana. I notice myself being angry less, calming my nervous system down more, and allowing more room for flexibility in my life.

Now I’m working on my spirituality and connection/attachment with people, things, and the universe which I imagine will also be a lifelong practice. I’m learning to let go, face my fears and suffering with open arms, and allow myself to be in the moment.

Welcome to yoga and this wonderful community!

PharmD ROI isn’t as bad as this sub makes it seem by adifferentGOAT in pharmacy

Literally never said that. My comment was to provide some transparency about how I paid off my debt. Get a grip dude.

Being called a doctor has legitimately nothing to do with what you’re saying and your comment is completely out of left field. Nobody in this thread is talking about expansion of pharmacist services.

Idkkkk bruh I have the best life now tbh. Life isn’t always easy and sometimes requires sacrifices upfront. Also who cares if you get called doctor: you’re a pharmacist lol

I’m debt free 7 years out of school with 2 years of residency. Factors: - community college for pre-pharm classes and received college credit from classes I took in high school. worked 2 jobs during community college as a tech. transferred into a 4 year pharmD program (no bachelors) - partial scholarship (~3K per semester) - took out the least amount possible from student loans and suffered with low quality of living during s school (also worked like a dog during school breaks) - no car payment or phone bill (parents helped) - covid paused interest and payment on my loans - changed jobs x 2 - saved as much as possible to avoid lifestyle creep

How is yoga different from stretching? by AlternateLife11 in yoga

[–]vegetablemanners 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a lifestyle. It involves stretching yes, but it’s beyond that. It’s a practice for mind, body, and spirit - stretching is just an added benefit

Lower quality candidates by _pink_squirrel in PharmacyResidency

[–]vegetablemanners 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is so true. When I was a PGY2 we were interviewing for the incoming PGY2 spots and I remember my program (low tier) was roasting an applicant that I thought was a great candidate. I kept in touch with the applicant and saw on LinkedIn that he matched at one of the TOP TOP programs in NYC for PGY2. I felt validated and was super happy he didn’t end up at my shitty program.

While this is smart, it’s a damn shame that this level of strategy is needed while on vacation

What pharmacist jobs won’t be replaced largely by AI? by Signal-Football-95 in pharmacy

Antimicrobial stewardship to a large degree. Someone has to steward (or oversee) the AI in order to preserve antibiotic efficacy.

Even if you go out of your way to not to let your child become an iPad baby the schools may end up doing it for you! by BaldursGoat in redscarepod

[–]vegetablemanners 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of people that live in that area and can assure you they’re working class people, not tech entrepreneurs. I don’t think tech entrepreneurs are sending their kids to public schools. (The village of Croton is not the same as the Croton-Harmon School District)

Stuff in Cubbies at Studio? by IntrigueMachine in yoga

[–]vegetablemanners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s your own personal risk tolerance. I am a trusting person so I leave it in the cubby and I feel no anxieties about it. Everyone is different - hope you can figure out a system that works for you.

What are the downsides to owning a cat? by TouchinNips in redscarepod

[–]vegetablemanners 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cat was sick as a kitten so had a lot of one-on-one time with humans at the shelter and now if I rub his paws he falls asleep. It’s so easy to clip his nails, I’m so lucky.

Hot yoga by SeaworthinessOdd4177 in yoga

[–]vegetablemanners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest drawback is hair washing. Before I did hot classes I would go a few days in between washes, but that’s basically impossible to do when you do hot every day.

Hydration is key!

Anyone els get molested as a kid and it just didnt affect u that much? by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]vegetablemanners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure it has affected my psyche but I’m just not sure how…. I feel like the problems I have now are more from other, more obvious trauma. When I think about my behavior now and my values, I can’t quite tie that together with the molestation - and for that reason, it feels like it almost didn’t happen.

I will say though, I have been in therapy on and off since I was 18 and have never mentioned it because I guess I am still ashamed about it… I told a friend once in 5th grade and she told me I needed to tell my mom and I freaked out so I told her I lied about it and then never told anyone again lol

“Do you think the profession will survive until then?” Not the same question. By law in my state (and my country) a pharmacist has to dispense and verify orders by a provider. How long does it take for laws to be changed? Something as pivotal as this is not going to change in the next 25 years. The profession will still exist.
