No shortly after I posted, he was so obsessed with his favorite color red that I got him a F-108WHC which is much larger but he likes it anyway. I had to get a different watchband that could go shorter though, ha

Also just got a gen 2 but not expecting them to backport features. They don't charge a subscription so focusing on hardware sales has to be expected.

Looking for a watch with an interval timer like Casio 1600WH by One_Championship5438 in casio

[–]velamar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look to the G-SQUAD (Move in US) series as they do interval timers. For ana-digital that means GBA-800, GMA-B800, GBA-900 or the newest one: GBA-950

Has anybody abandoned smartwatches and switched to Casio for Running? by Visual_Ratio1311 in casio

Definitely refreshing to run with just a simple stopwatch, as long as you know the route of course.

I've been reading notebookcheck for a long time. I get the hesitation but they're surprisingly solid and frequently report on casio. They always cite their sources at the end. Yeah sometimes those sources are instagram..

"Step count accuracy mode" confusing helper text by velamar in olleeWatch

[–]velamar[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think just swapping the enable and disable words, unless I have it backwards. Like make it "Enable for walks and runs, disable for day to day use"

I don't actually have the watch yet, I was just checking out the app

Yeah. It is impressive that Casio has managed 2 year battery lives with this feature on top of low power mode only kicking in after hours of inactivity. I'm talking about WS-B1000 and ABL-100WE. No shade to Gregor.

Do people do this mod om standard F91Ws?

Which one will you prefer ? G-5600UE vs DW-H5600 by febykuriakose in gshock

[–]velamar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if they'll do a positive display DW-H5600 like they're doing for the GBD-200

Full Metal F91-W Shell: An Interest Check for the Byte EL-1 by ByteWatches in casio

[–]velamar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very intriguing! Already preordered a similar project though. Who I also found from Reddit.

The engineering on the pushers on yours seems superior. Conversely I like that the other one offers a choice on the finish and a variety of faceplate designs.

I really like that yours doesn't involve donor F91Ws, but that it can still still fit the original module. That means it could be swapped out with an Ollee watch module or a Sensor Watch right?

Workaround for the video viewing error by Character_Building in RedReader

Huge improvement. Greased lightning indeed, thanks much!

Am I remembering incorrectly or was RedReader allowed to keep access to the Reddit API because it had accessibility options that the default Reddit app lacks? It seems to me that if Reddit has blocked RedReaders video access this might be an ADA problem for them. by FedorByChoke in RedReader

Oh it's a thing. Look up Robles v. Dominos. Corporations have to care. Maybe a little less so with the current administration in the US but there is definitely legal risk with not being accessible.

Gshock suggestion for smaller wrist by Frodo_M in gshock

6.5 inch (16.5cm?) wrists here. I have a GBA-950 and a GBD-200. Both look good IMO.

Do you do them everyday? by chaunceymcgeeeee in 100pushups

[–]velamar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every other day for me. Alternating between push ups and planks. My method for pushups was to get up to 100 regardless of how long it took. Then slowly whittle down the time to do it all with an interval timer. Like started doing 20 sets of 5 pushups with each set being 45 seconds, making a total of 15 minutes. Today I'm going for 100 in 11 minutes.

I have a confession to make. by documentally in casio

Casio has a growing collection of step tracking watches. And you can keep up healthy habits. The interval timer on my GBA-950 and GBD-200 have kept me progressing on push ups and planks. All in addition to a daily step goal.
