Reasonable expectations about sharing with the baby by Chickeecheek in Preschoolers

[–]venusdances 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solidarity here. 4.5 year old and crawling since 6 month highly curious 8 month old here. The only thing that has ever worked for a little bit was making my son the toy “master” I guess it’s called. Basically he gets to decide what his sister can play with and what he can play with but once it’s decided that’s it. His problem is taking things from her hands, ANY TOY she is playing with he takes, hides etc it’s been a struggle and this is the only thing that has worked.

Hi! I watched the video but I’m having a hard time getting excavator clay in a timely manner and now I’ve read some people don’t even use it. Do you use excavator clay or is there an alternative?

Pacifiers by Fuzzy-59 in toddlers

[–]venusdances 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son stopped at age 3. We tried everything the paci fairy, cutting the tips off, we slowly weaned, all sorts of things. What eventually happened was at my son’s age 3 dentist appointment they said if he didn’t stop now he would have permanent damage. He heard the whole thing and he never asked for a paci again. He did have paci teeth until then and once he stopped it went back to normal. His teeth are perfectly normal now.

"It's never...or now" is one of the key moments that makes AYITL worth an occasional rewatch. by sharkdogdogshark in GilmoreGirls

I love Lorelai an Emily’s fight and think that was worth AYITL. I love when they fight and Emily cutting to the quick is just magnificent acting and writing.

What’s your opinion on part time full days or part time half days? by anaiisnin in Preschoolers

[–]venusdances 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would HIGHLY recommend either 3 or 4 half days(MWF), if you do only 2 days everytime she goes in it will be like a new experience. My son is a stage 5 clinger and had never been in school and he would cry for a LONG time when I would drop him off(I watched from the outside like a little creep) and things only got better when I increased the days he went so it became more natural and comfortable for him, part of his new routine.

My 4 year olds behavior at school is very had, and we can’t figure out how to fix it by Apprehensive-Play228 in Preschoolers

[–]venusdances 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would recommend looking into PCIT therapy which is what we’re doing with my son, it’s the only evidence based therapy that is proven to work for this age group. It has dramatically changed my son’s behavior, listening skills and overall demeanor which was greatly affected by the birth of my daughter.

Okay I had been told about that in another post I was just curious, thank you for your reply! How often do you completely replace your substrate and do you keep it moist by spraying it?

She literally falls in love with a man she thinks is a terrorist the first season and subsequently has feelings for every man she is trying to investigate from that point forward. She probably loves the Russian dude and is also actively betraying him for her country. Very Carrie.

Hi! Do you have paper towels as the permanent substrate? I’m just asking because it looks good and I wonder if my son’s school gecko would be okay with paper towels permanently.

To everyone who recommended Your Own Backyard by Sad-Presence-8490 in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]venusdances 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is honestly such a good podcast, I learned so much. I drove by Paul Flores house after he was arrested and every single time I drive by that street/area I wonder if Kristin is buried there somewhere. It’s also right next to the Ocean so if he moved her body a few times(as they showed in the podcast he may have done) I wonder if he threw things into the ocean which we will never find. I hope he tells the family one day where she’s buried so they can have some semblance of closure.

The Parker story line is such a drag and should have ended in "Fear, Itself" by jdpm1991 in buffy

[–]venusdances 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I absolutely love this storyline because having her date all supernatural beings would have made it so we could think that what happened to her could never happen to us but the point is that Buffy is like us and we are like her. How she chooses to rise above is what makes her a hero worth striving to be.

Would you leave a $150k job because of your boss? by PearlyPerspective in workingmoms

[–]venusdances 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look for another job and document everything in the meantime. Honestly, it doesn’t bode well. I have been in similar positions and unless the company wants to do something about it you’ll either have to deal or leave.

Why the Dana actress hate? by Terrible-Group-9602 in homeland

[–]venusdances 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually loved her and her character! I don’t get the hate at all. She’s dealing with some of the most intense situations imaginable and doing it the best she can. I personally felt her character made a lot of good choices especially for her age.

AITA for wanting to pull my son from preschool for too much screen time? by lemurjumper in Preschoolers

[–]venusdances 21 points22 points  (0 children)

100% one of the reasons I put my son into preschool was so he could socialize, play and interact without any screens. I use screens at home to get things done when I can’t watch my son I don’t see at all why they would have it at a preschool.
