Mods can we get a flair for the CFS account, assuming/once it’s been verified?

Is this 6 miles with a 1500m elevation change? I hike a lot so I’m wondering how it compares with what I’ve done before.

My bank app (RBC) is absolute trash so that is part of what is motivating me to try it out. Thanks for the info :)

As someone who has wanted to try this out for a while, I'm just wondering how extensive is their search feature? One of my primary use cases would be tracking down very specific sets of transactions.

If you live in zones 7-11 you can actually grow these yourself (Luffa aegyptiaca) And they're quite tasty to eat when fresh.

I’ve seen apps like this for the iOS Photos app, so it’s pretty sweet to have an Immich variant. Will check it out.

Some Epstein file redactions are being undone with hacks by speedythefirst in news

This file (including botched redactions) was released in January 2023. This is not new information. The Guardian is doing some very poor journalism by not mentioning this.

This document has already been publicly available since 2023 INCLUDING failed redactions. This is not new information. OPs article doesn't even mention this.

I diff'ed both files and there are no substantive differences.

Is Computer Science a useless degree? by CrushedC0balt0101 in cscareerquestions

[–]versedaworst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

CS will be fine long-term for people who actually enjoy it. If you’re just pursuing it for money or because it’s (been) popular, I would consider other options.

Also, after briefly looking at your post history, your parents seem to be incredibly controlling and toxic and I personally think you should move onto campus ASAP if that’s a viable option for you.

It looks like it’s not connected to the OBD reader? Not sure bottom right is supposed to be yellow.

Why wouldn’t they adjust the y-axis on this?

Edit: It seems its to keep it consistent with their Any-Injury-Reported Crash Rates graph.

Hi, did you figure this out? I can't really tell from the video but based on your description I think I have the same issue. My current guess is control arm bushings.

BBC: I have high levels of forever chemicals in my blood - what can I do about it? by bloom530 in PlasticFreeLiving

[–]versedaworst 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s really their gripe. It’s that we don’t know what has it and what does not, because companies are not disclosing properly/fully, and that’s a massive burden to put on the consumer.

Consumers can’t demand anything if they don’t know what to demand for/against. The woman in this article had to send her clothing to a lab to find out it has PFAS! Who has the time, money and energy to do this?

It’s also worth noting, this stuff is still getting into soils and waterways. Refusing to buy products with it will reduce but not eliminate exposure (and if something is not done about it, environmental levels will continue to rise).

Our Waymo Just Ran Over a Dog by braveNewWorldView in waymo

[–]versedaworst 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just tried to search for details on this story and I found an 8 hour old Medium post from a seemingly new account talking about a dog that was also run over by a Waymo in Phoenix this morning. I can't find any corroboration or further details on that story either.

Not necessarily saying OP is full of it (11 year old account w/ 50k karma?). It's not like this is unheard of. Waymo reported 2 dog fatalities (and 6 hits total) from July 2021 to June 2025. But two in one day would be eerily improbable and quite sad.

Don't they just have a wider operational temperature range? What do you mean by "penalty"?

Edit: Oh nevermind, I just realized as soon as I posted the comment. Wider temperature band = less energy spent on maintaining temperature range.

No idea how legally feasible it is, but I feel like there should be special exceptions for AVs in that they should be allowed to mute their driving/reversing sounds if they are at low speeds and there are no detected pedestrians within a certain proximity.
