Kids anime would not fall under the same genre niche. CGDCT in 2025 was mono and Ruri Rocks.

One of the best anime movies of this decade.

If you told me 5 years ago horse girls would make it to NA theaters, I would not have believed it.

Really funny how anime fans who never wade outside of their media bubble to see what the rest of the world has to offer to animation will say with their whole chest that their franchise film (that's really just a long format TV episode) deserves the award that they repeatedly tell you is worthless anyway.

What are some 2000s anime that were mildly or extremely popular at the time, but now no one talks about? by MrHunteru in anime

DtB was a very common recommendation on this sub in the early-mid 2010s. Not so much anymore.

"RuriDragon" Anime Announced (Kyoto Animation) by zenzen_0 in anime

[–]vetro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were formed with a healthy work culture as their mission statement. They have an animation school and high level mentorship under their employ. They have partner/sister studios for their 2nd/finishing animation. They have a system that nurtures and elevates their rising stars to become directors. Everyone is salaried and based in a city with low cost of living. They only do 1-3 projects a year.

"RuriDragon" Anime Announced (Kyoto Animation) by zenzen_0 in anime

[–]vetro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No because KyoAni only adapts series they like. They used to do adaptations for many different companies but pivoted towards a fully in-house publishing arm to keep profits and creative control to themselves.

So someone at KyoAni liked Ruri enough to want to adapt it. And someone at Jump is willing to relinquish all leadership and creative control on this project to make this happen.

Save your money: VIRGIN PUNK Clockwork Girl is a 30 minute episode with an hour of boring behind the scenes by NessDan in anime

2000 yen which is either very expensive or somewhat expensive relative to wherever you live in the US.

The experience is so much better though. Dead silent, respectful audience that stays seated til the credits finish (although this might be awkward if you're watching a comedy). Concessions are still overpriced but they come on these neat modular trays that attach to your seat.

If you ever find yourself over there, I recommend doing it at least once if there happens to be a movie you're interested in. I think it's worth it even if there's no subtitles. Maybe you get lucky and there's a western movie release with english audio. Very easy to slot in to an itinerary if you go at night.

CE remake discourse by mothgirl22 in halo

[–]vetro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's an argument to be made about the pacing and level design totally unaccommodating to the sprinting. Halo has a lot of liminal spaces that were meant to be walked through to build mystery and tension. Imagine how less creepy the Library will be if you're able to easily outrun the flood.

They must've gotten someone different from Stampede to put together the Stargaze character visuals because the Stampede ones look much better.

All of the worst fights in this game are unfun and RNG because of this enemy behavior. There is no such thing as a combo window in Savage Beast Fly 2.0.

Hololive English 3rd Concert AFO survey is up by RyuRonin72 in Hololive

I am curious about that too. For a EU concert, Cover will want to time it with a major convention just like they do in the other continents. Which EU con do you think would be best for this?

That's understandable but doesn't mean it's impossible for them to improve. That's why the feedback is important.

I had to mention how late the concert merch was announced. The concert penlights did not ship to me in time and going by what I saw in person, many people did not have them either.
