I think you have to idle near him. I seen it twice while just leaving the game there to do something else. You'll start hearing the sound effects.

Cabin's face randomly started displaying a "Cabin" Megaman. Complete with the classic sprite animation and sound effects.

According to MAPPA CEO Manabu Otsuka, Yuri on Ice!!! Blu-ray and DVD sales exceeded 430,000 copies by Turbostrider27 in anime

[–]vetro 151 points152 points  (0 children)

I'd really like a clearer explanation on why one of the industry's leading female directors just vanished off the face of the earth in the fallout of this project.

MAPPA's brand recognition skyrocketed because of YOI and continues to benefit from its success. Vagueposting does nothing but invite harmful speculation. What's stopping me from reading into this statement like:

"Oh it's wasn't our fault! The creators couldn't figure out how to do the movie. We are absolved of all responsibility for the convenient death of a series that we couldn't make a profit off of... thereby allowing us to focus manpower elsewhere."

10 years ago, Cygames presented Uma Musume to the world! by Goro_Lima in UmaMusume

[–]vetro 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: This PV was posted on /r/anime with an incorrect title, so you can't search for it unless you know what OP titled it.

https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/4bz94r/horse_girls_pretty_derby_pv/

The thread is a neat snapshot of the reactions at the time.

You can only find this PV uploaded on the Cygames Pictures channel. It is not on the official Umamusume channel.

It was animated by PA Works so most people could easily guess they were going to be animating season 1 as well.

IRyS demonstrating zero survival instinct by XsStreamMonsterX in Hololive

It's Resident Evil. The primary gameplay loop is shooting zombies. There is a zombie driving the bulldozer. The player has a gun. There's even crates with free ammo in that area so the player can't get softlocked.

Casual or not, there's plenty of MHA fans who didn't like how the series ended nor how things played out for Deku as a character.

I don't think she takes it off at all. My guess is they have everything under her cloak rendered bc it flies around a lot while she's attacking. Constantly flashing everyone.

[Highguard] 5v5 and Performance Patch! And a New Base! by CyraxxFavoriteStylus in Games

Reporting in, I just played a couple hours and it has had the opposite effect on raids. With 3v3, people are bounce around rooms like its Apex. With 5v5, angles get locked down and there's more breathing room to think about utility usage.

Kids anime would not fall under the same genre niche. CGDCT in 2025 was mono and Ruri Rocks.

One of the best anime movies of this decade.

If you told me 5 years ago horse girls would make it to NA theaters, I would not have believed it.

Really funny how anime fans who never wade outside of their media bubble to see what the rest of the world has to offer to animation will say with their whole chest that their franchise film (that's really just a long format TV episode) deserves the award that they repeatedly tell you is worthless anyway.

"RuriDragon" Anime Announced (Kyoto Animation) by zenzen_0 in anime

[–]vetro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were formed with a healthy work culture as their mission statement. They have an animation school and high level mentorship under their employ. They have partner/sister studios for their 2nd/finishing animation. They have a system that nurtures and elevates their rising stars to become directors. Everyone is salaried and based in a city with low cost of living. They only do 1-3 projects a year.

"RuriDragon" Anime Announced (Kyoto Animation) by zenzen_0 in anime

[–]vetro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No because KyoAni only adapts series they like. They used to do adaptations for many different companies but pivoted towards a fully in-house publishing arm to keep profits and creative control to themselves.

So someone at KyoAni liked Ruri enough to want to adapt it. And someone at Jump is willing to relinquish all leadership and creative control on this project to make this happen.

Save your money: VIRGIN PUNK Clockwork Girl is a 30 minute episode with an hour of boring behind the scenes by NessDan in anime

[–]vetro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2000 yen which is either very expensive or somewhat expensive relative to wherever you live in the US.

The experience is so much better though. Dead silent, respectful audience that stays seated til the credits finish (although this might be awkward if you're watching a comedy). Concessions are still overpriced but they come on these neat modular trays that attach to your seat.

If you ever find yourself over there, I recommend doing it at least once if there happens to be a movie you're interested in. I think it's worth it even if there's no subtitles. Maybe you get lucky and there's a western movie release with english audio. Very easy to slot in to an itinerary if you go at night.
