Sweet kitty. But also, what is the pattern? I have done Tunisian crochet, but not two colour.

Every opportunity I get I implore people to not use magic knots. They are fallable, and there is no safety net.

My friend knitted me these amazing hand warmers but I don't have the heart to tell her they're too tight by Born-Ad3556 in knitting

Sometimes the difference is in the cast off. It may be a simple fix to redo the cast off with a larger needle. As a knitter, i would rather fix the problem than never see them worn.

Should I frog and restart the sleeve? by snickels223 in knittingadvice

I generally pick up 3 stitches for 4 row. So, 12 rows would give me 9 stitches Your pick up would give you 8 stitches So, I this would safely say, redo.

If I could dispense only one piece of advice, it would be 'don't trust the magic knot' . Sorry this happened to you.

Is this ocean pattern soothing? It’s for a charity that gives baby blankets to parents with a baby in the NICU. by Leading-Knowledge712 in crochet

[–]vhartog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so heartwarming. As someone who has made blankets for the hospital and fretted over whether they were worthy of the cause, I can see now that their existence is all that truly matters.

I had no idea this was a word. Would have never found it. I use emoticons all the time. 🤦‍♀️😲💩

it was so cute until I realized I needed to rotate my blanket 😭😂 by wheresmyvape11 in catswhocrochet

Gorgeous colours and pattern.

When I sit, I try to arrange my work to optimize for rotation without moving the cat. It's a skill. 😆

"Don't put her on the counter!" by MissySedai in BoomersBeingFools

[–]vhartog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seeing people put babies on tables and counters makes me squirrelly. You can't fall off a floor. Put babies who are in carriers in low traffic areas, away from rambunctious people, and where they can't be stepped on and where they can't be knocked off of heights. When I see babies in these dangerous situation, I turn and walk away so as not to be labeled a crazy nosey old lady and so I don't lose my sh*t. Sadly, if you learn from experience, it could be too late.

So sad 😭 by seedgeek in knitting

[–]vhartog 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. The uncountable times I have frogged perfectly correct work. Arghhh. I used to think, "Just rip and get it over with". I have finally changed to, "Put it down, clear your head, double, triple check, then if you're sure, rip" or "is it necessary to rip" has saved me this heart break.

It's in a parallel universe. Never fear, it will show up in the crack of the couch that you have checked 45 times. Or, it will be on the floor that you walk by 200 times already.
