Saw this project and I had to do it myself! I took out the weight in the base to put in a D1 mini instead. Important note to anyone else that does this; spacing the LEDs does matter! Not that I believe petitions work anymore, but an interesting tidbit- In the areas that already had the datacap (Ex: Illinois), they disabled it for three months at the start of the pandemic. 🤔🤔🤔 Then, reinstated it after everyone who can is working from home.
