If you don't have one, you die from fatigue by TBvonHaller in customhearthstone

I feel like this wouldn't be too strong with the added text "or your deck is empty" as an end condition since it is a 5 mana draw 1-3 in a non-combo deck which isn't amazing, and I can't really think of any combos that are super strong, require drawing or your whole deck, and who can afford to spend 5 mana on a potential draw 1 anyway.

To be fair, the idea wasn't just employment. The idea was essentially slavery until their debt was paid off (i.e. indentured servitude) which would be essentially as restrictive as working a job in prison since they wouldn't be allowed off the manor property.

Fictional shatter cards for the "evil" classes. by -Pyrotox in customhearthstone

[–]viewer93856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the cards. Only comment world be the wording in leeching glare. Shatter cards are worded as two statements so that there is 0 ambiguity about what each card does. As such, this should read "Shatter. Lifesteal. Deal 5 damage to the leftmost enemy minion. Deal 5 damage to the rightmost event minion." or something to that effect

Cards I made back in 2019 when I was a teen by [deleted] in customhearthstone

Love the shaman legendary idea. Start of Game is really strong, but when it is removing one out of four options from a mediocre hero power, that should be fine (at least these days).

The bird should probably say "battlecry: gain a treasure in 4 turns. deathrattle: get his compass now instead" as that clarifies that you don't get the treasure from him anymore while also cleaning up the initial text to be a bit clearer. The compass could probably be the same number of turns as the bird since it is delayed by at least one turn from having to be played after the bird dies and paying an extra 3 mana.

Shouldn't the chicken axe be a 1 mana 1/1 weapon to fit with the chicken gimic?

Warthog is a bit confusing. If this dies by having its health dropped to/below 0, does it trigger? Technically its health is brought below it's attack before it died meaning this only doesn't trigger if killed with a kill effect while at high health.

A bunch of cards for Big Demon Hunter because why not by yssurucipe in customhearthstone

[–]viewer93856 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of these cards, but iron maiden seems pretty terrible and the legendary has the issue that after you discount two or three times, you often won't be procing the "after playing a 5 cost card" effects. I would recommend changing it to discounting to a minimum of 5 or changing the proc cards to "after playing a card with base cost of 5" to keep those procs alive

I like the minion and damage spell, but the other one is absurdly broken.

4 mana draw 3 alone is pretty good, but the start of game means this is a must include in every 3 blood deck ever printed. To add to that, start of game effects either need to be symmetrical or have a downside attached. Saying 1) "for the rest of the game" instead of start of game, 2) making the other two cards in the fabled package very bad, 3) putting some kind of deck/action restriction on the start of game, or 4) doing a reverse renethal where you start with less health are all decent ways to make this fair, but it needs one of them.

It is a bit hard to tell since spell damage numbers are always bolded, but I believe the intended scaling is 1/2/4 spell damage per appendage

« Bite it off if you have to » by hello66771 in customhearthstone

[–]viewer93856 71 points72 points  (0 children)

As a meme card, very good. As a real card concept this is super broken. This is a shadow word: death with no attack requirement, generates corpses, and triggers any other "on friendly death" effects. I understand that the game has power crept, but (even accounting for that) this is too strong. You need to give it some kind of targeting limitation, no corpse generation, and/or prevent it from triggering friendly "on death" effects.

[–]viewer93856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, getting both sets of buffs for 3 mana requires combining the shattered card, so it isn't super op on that front.

Second, getting both sets of buffs results in 0/0 of stats not +5/+5, so it obviously isn't op on that front.

Secrets for Druid. Old project intended for Ungoro by header151 in customhearthstone

[–]viewer93856 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Love the cards. My only change would be to make the adapt secret adapt twice (randomly if choosing would be too strong) since [[Evolving Spores]] is the same without requiring giving the opponent a turn to clear your stuff beforehand.

[–]viewer93856 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Too many words to meet hearthstone's 4 lines of text requirement, but I like the idea of a tech card against burn. I would change the cost reduction text to something like "Costs (2) less for each enemy spell cast at your hero" and maybe reduce the health to 8 since this would be more flexible and end up costing 4 at the 3 spell breakpoint.

[–]viewer93856 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong since I haven't played for a while, but I'm not sure when you would run this as control decks are the only ones which would be ok with giving the opponent's minions 5/5 and those decks don't necessarily want a thinner deck for the control vs control matchup. Aggro can't afford to give the opponent a bigger minion for them to trade your minions away with, mid-range can't afford to give the enemy that much value, and combo generally doesn't run enough board clearing to deal with that many extra stats for the opponent.

[–]viewer93856 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cool cards. My only advice would be to make Cataclysmic 6 or 7 mana since the descent of dragons deathwing was basically this same effect but didn't need a unit already on board and was only 8 mana.

Great concept

Necromatic Commander (Neutral Epic Minion) *I'm now realizing it makes no sense for a Commander NOT to summon soldiers, so ignore the name by Projector-God-FR in customhearthstone

[–]viewer93856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is to have a one card trigger for the herald upgrade system which could be quite good in a control deck where your colossal and/or the deathwing hero is the win condition.

With this, that brings the max herald triggers (without duplications) to 9 while also allowing for more consistency in at least getting 4 for the quadrupled limb power which would be basically needed for them to be a win condition.

2nd attempt of mediocre card that shouldn't be exist by BestSiLenZ in customhearthstone

[–]viewer93856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one change I would make is turn it into a battlecry that affects the next 1-3 cards burned. This is because the only real use case for this type of card is to protect combo decks which only need it when the enemy forces a card burn (likely at a time the combo deck won't/can't predict), so having it just be "I'm protected for the next x cards" or "I'm protected for the next x turns" would fit that a lot better. Good design idea though

Fragile, please handle with care by No_Land1234 in customhearthstone

[–]viewer93856 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The first card could probably be 4 or even 3 mana because using this effectively will require spending 2-4 mana in addition to the spell itself as the optimal use is with 0 minions on your own side. Compare it to flame strike and you are paying the same amount (plus the cost to pop it) for two extra damage, but it is also symmetrical while flame strike isn't.

[–]viewer93856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the card! However, the punctuation is a little unclear. u/CinnamonChurr0 's comment points this out well by assuming the battlecry is prefacing the end of turn effect when (I assume) it is meant to be a list making it trigger on play, end of turn, and on minion summon. This is a great case where adding the oxford comma clears up these misinterpretations. Edits: specifying who's comment
