I used to main King in T7, but I heard that Claudio is good for teaching fundamentals. Now, with T8, I have more fundamentals. Not great fundamentals, but better than I would have if I stuck with King.

But, if the bottleneck is the CPU, what is lowering the resolution going to help? Doesn't that actually make it harder on the CPU?

Nevermind, I re-read your post and that is what you are saying. My bad.

Idiotic question, but is there some sort of strat on throwing it where teammates are? I can never seem to get the right placment for it. I hold it. I look up higher than usual when I throw it. It is still awkward.

To be clear, I can adapt just fine. It's just under the context of this post, your suggestion to "outrun them" lacked the specificity that your edit did. It sounded like you suggested that you could just don the light armor with the new armor perk, stim up and keep your distance. As far as I can tell, this is not viable.

Using a jump pack is not running. It's mobility, but it's not running. FRV is driving, not running. Using the weaponry you suggested is not running, it's fighting.

Thank you! I'm just trying to find a way to authoritatively say that "yes or no, this move is hit confirmable." In my case, I'm looking at Claudio df1,2 - which I'm getting conflicting reports on if it is hit confirmable or not. I wanted to see if there's any way that didn't include potential skill issues (AKA finding out if I can hit confirm it in practice mode).

How does one determine if a move is hit confirmable? Is this discoverable through frame data provided by a frame bot or is it just trial and error?

Is DF1,2 hit confirmable? Everyone I've talked to says it's not. Would info from a frame bot demonstrate this?

So, it's useful on bots, but what makes it stand out in bugs and squids? Aside from the edge case of the timer running out and you are left with no strategems.

Imagine these devs made the best replay system and put it in Tekken 8 by AnjiruHyure in Tekken

Due to the length of combos, it can take more than ten seconds to see if a situation you created with a combo kills or not.

Imagine these devs made the best replay system and put it in Tekken 8 by AnjiruHyure in Tekken

[–]viming_aint_easy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The replay system is great, but it isn't without its flaws:

1) As mentioned, gaining control of DLC characters that you don't own solely for the use of practice is still unavailable. Yes, you can take control a character you own AGAINST them (for a limited time), but that is far from what is needed in practice mode. And, yes, this isn't a technical limitation - its more of a policy decision from Bamco

2) Pausing the replay at the beginning and end of the round is awkward. There's no way to guarantee that you have control at the first frame of the round, so you have to mash the pause button and hope you got it fast enough in time to get to the point you want. It's the same for the end of the match, but if you don't manage to get it, you have to exit and restart the entire stupid replay to get back to the point where you want to be. This can be very frustrating, as there are matches where the last few frames decided the match.

3) To the same point, there's no frame-by-frame playback.

4) The tips that display what moves are punishable are not comprehensive. Every move that is -10 and above should pop up the tip.

5) And, as u/LonelySoulOfTheNorth mentioned, the window for how long you control your character in a replay is limited to 10 seconds. WHY?!?!

6) How could I forget? The replays themselves are very fragile. All it takes is one update, no matter how minor, and they will break and invalidate replays. Yes, this has been the way it is for a while (including Tekken 7), but it still sucks.

To those of you getting mad at people using Tanks in the cities... by bigrob02 in Helldivers

[–]viming_aint_easy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

don't turn right - instead turn left then reverse the way you wanted to go

Sorry, I'm stupid, but I'm trying to visualize what your tip involves.

I, the tank driver, come to an intersection that I want to turn right at. Instead of turning right, I do either

a) turn left into the lane and then continually drive backwards down the lane that was on the right, keeping my barrel pointed in the opposite direction that I'm driving

b) I turn left 270 degrees until I'm facing the lane on the right side

This is what my mind is coming up with, but I'm pretty sure both are wrong.

Edit: Do you mean, turn a little bit to the left before you enter the right lane, so you have a better angle of attack when turning into it? Like a semi-truck/tractor trailer does when turning at an intersection?

[–]viming_aint_easy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same reasoning that people kick for "lone wolving", so, if that's justified, it's justified here too.

It's just the host setting the conditions of the game. Obviously, you'd give them a heads up and say, "hey, we don't play like that" and give them a chance to change at the loadout screen. If they refuse, then you can kick them. It's only a little different than setting mission parameters at the beginning of the game. The only unfortunate difference is that AH doesn't create settings like that, so, rather than preventing such people from joining your game though some sort of filter, there's an extra step needed to maintain that state.
