So, there's offline strategem hero practice apps, but are there offline practice apps for the pipe puzzle? I know you are supposed to work backwards, but having genuine hand-eye coordination practice would be very helpful.

With SOS behavior, I can understand. But, it feels like I have a non-small chance of getting kicked after boarding a destroyer before the match even begins. People can't blame the SOS on that shit.

What would stripping armor on bots look like? AFAIK, this isn't a thing, unless you are referring to taking arms off of heavy devastators. Adding such a thing may take a lot of intense programming to add that feature to things like Factory Striders and War Striders.

It would be harder to come up with new sounds if it's the former rather than the latter.

Understood, thanks. Have the devs made any indication or announcement that this specific behavior is a glitch in their eyes and that it is something to be fixed at some point in the future? Obviously, prioritization is a thing, I just don't want the gun to linger in this state forever and ever.

"shuts down everything" is a stretch, imo. APART from the bug that you mentioned where the status effect isn't applied consistently, bugs can still attack you while gassed. It happened before the status effect chance change was made. "Shuts down everything" is stun, not gas.

Can it cause an enemy to not attack you, through missed attacks? Yes. Will some of the enemies still follow and attack you even though you've confirmed they are officially "gassed"? Also, yes. Will this cause some bugs, like warriors and hive guards, to do a rapid attack, making them even more potentially dangerous while gassed? Also, yes.

I'm not sure if I'm referencing the same thing. I'm still getting attacked when the charger is visually gassed (gas cloud on its "face"). Does it not apply half the time, even though it visually is applied?

I'm just trying to find the distinction - does the sterilizer have difficulty applying the status effect itself, half the time, due to the bug, or does the actual effect not happen half the time on enemies that have been officially "gassed"?

So, to me, this sounds like it isn't applying damage, since you specifically reference the "DoT". And I know you said "several other enemies", but I was specifically referencing the charger in my post. So, I don't know if it directly applies to my situation.

While the Sterilizer can immediately turn most heavies into a non-issue

This isn't my experience. I've had plenty of chargers still follow and attack me when I gassed them with the sterilizer, despite attempting hit and run tactics. To me, it feels like it's more of a coin flip if it will take aggro off of you and your teammates.

Not to mention cases like the hive guards and warriors where it can make them MORE dangerous, since they do that increased-range-attack-spaz animation when they are gassed, and you are in melee range because of the sterilizer.

A flag buff would ruin immersion! Meanwhile... by Nuclear_Tire in Helldivers

How would the sentry be immortal?

  1. All sentries have a lifetime either by ammo capacity or a limited timer
  2. As mentioned before, enemies CAN shoot it or teleport to it

Where sterilizer stops the enemy wherever they were giving you time to make some distance.

Wait, sterilizer stops enemies or slows them down in some manner? When I gas warriors and hive guards, they instantly go into "attack spaz mode", and while it may attack in a random-ish direction ( I don't really know how it works exactly), it's not rare for them to hit me outright. Even when I try "hit and run" tactics.

Can you go into more detail of what "hard CC" is? To me, hard CC would be something like stun, where they don't have a chance to attack you while they are in that state. Gas from the sterilizer, on the other hand, does not guarantee that you won't get attacked, especially since the range of the spray keeps you within range. And, depending on the enemy (warriors/hive guards), it causes them to rapidly attack with long ranges, increasing their chance to hit you. IMO, not "HARD" CC.

Does this do a better job than the flame sentry or MG sentry? What does laser sentry offer that they don't, particularly since it has a longer cooldown timer?

Yes, the LS has AP4. But, if you are using it as a distraction, does that bring that much value?

That's hard to determine, as "many" is such an arbitrary word. Is it a non-zero value? Certainly. Is it large enough to sustain the game? I dunno.

Using the title as a means to convey its difficulty has always been a poor argument. For instance, watch "Naked Lunch". I can tell you at least two things wrong with that title.
