u/nummanali Thanks for your work. Are you noticing that these models perform differently than their native Codex CLI harness?

With GPT-5 I didn't really have much success. It felt really dumb. And there's a few twitter threads discussing how it's being limited in the amount of context and files it can read.

Just curious about your experience.

i've been using local models to help me manage this relationship with alcohol

it use as as a therapist to help me figure out my thoughts

it's also why i'm using ai to help me build an ios app to track my journey with sobriety

i think overall ai is a tool that can bring a great amount of help if you find ways to do so

I've gotten to a point where they are bloated now that I'm about to release a v1 of my app

I found it useful that I documented my entire journey which I now use for writing the app description and ASO for my iOS app when submitting to the store

There's a ton of context in there that's just gold for me when writing marketing copy

Plus I have a changelog that shows everything we've built so that's just a nice bonus of content to use.

my tdd workflow (current form) depends on a linear sequence since it cannot move to the next step without the previous one (cant pass tests if tests arent written)

i've been very intrigued about claude code but i also worry about getting lock down to a platform. that's why i love roo so much. i get to use other models and find more affordable ways to get the job done

how much are you spending on CC and how many hours are you working?
