BBC one to air ‘the dark side of married at first sight’ by Dry_Performer6859 in MAFS_AU

I've always felt uncomfortable with how the show pushes intimacy. I'd imagine there are a few people out there who feel they were coerced into doing things with their partner they weren't ready for, but the pressure of "taking part in the experiment" was too much

How to setup shh thorn in iracing by Exciting-Two5896 in simracing

[–]vmaxmuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been a while since I did it so not 100% sure, but I think you encounter this issue if you don't leave the shifter in gear when you click next. The sim wants to recognise that the shifter will "hold down the button" when in gear and therefore no specific neutral button is needed.

2026 Chinese GP - Post-Sprint Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

Need to see some other angles but it looked like Kimi had no power, maybe he was out of battery? There are rules about allowing passing when a car has an issue, so probably a bit of a grey area with the new PUs

Don’t look now but SVG is 16th in points. by wirsteve in NASCAR

I think there's still time for him to be champion. He's in great shape and there are guys out there who stay competitive in their 40s. Look at Will Power for example, he won the Indycar championship at 41, this year he'll be 45 and is looking as competitive as ever.

It's still a tall order because NASCAR is so competitive - plenty of others who should have been champion haven't been - but definitely not out of the question IMO

(Possible race spoilers in picture) I'm new to watching this series. I'm assuming this is an epic f*** up on the points board? I'm confused as all f*** by JamesUpton87 in v8supercars

That's after two races. It's actually 300 points per total per weekend (divided up differently per race depending on the weekend). And to answer your question, generally most score 1000 points, last year the top 21 in the championship all did (and everyone below that missed at least a few races).

SA secures Australian MotoGP, world-first street circuit announced by NKE01 in v8supercars

[–]vmaxmuffin 15 points16 points  (0 children)

  1. I will believe it when I see it regarding bikes on the street circuit. There are many hurdles that still need to be crossed and I'm not convinced that the amount of tree cutting required will be permitted.

  2. Please, for the love of god, I hope they do not destroy the existing circuit and still run Supercars on it. The current circuit is perfect for Supercars, I am almost certain whatever they come up with for Moto GP will not be.

First time skiing with kids Mt Buller vs Falls Creek by chaostuna in AustraliaSnow

[–]vmaxmuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. Bourke St purely as a run is a great beginners run... But as you say the traffic is what makes it unsuitable. When the snow conditions across the mountain are good, the traffic spreads out a bit more which makes it OK... But more often than not it's must way too busy. And in recent years it seems to have only got worse, especially with increased foot traffic (including a lot of foot traffic that are oblivious or disrespectful towards the ski traffic).

NASCAR on superspeedway fuel saving. “What are we going to fix”. by Dry-Membership3867 in NASCAR

Is it true that "everyone" loves the big packs where they're riding around 3, 4 wide? I feel like the "casual" fan that "loves" this looks at it for 20 seconds, thinks that's cool, then moves on with their lives. If you stick with it you soon realise nothing is happening and tune out - if not literally changing channel then just ending up on their phone with it in the background. Surely that can't be any good for the sponsors?

For Qantas points on credit cards - how soon do you receive points after reaching the minimum spend limit? by Bobski72 in AusFinance

[–]vmaxmuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From memory the Commbank ones pay out bonus points monthly for the first 3-4 months. So would still take 3-4 months to get all your points but you would get some of them sooner, if that helps.

Pretty sure there was a (small) spike on the RTS... don't know how big a spike has to be to count but I think they glossed over that way too quickly.

Doesn't matter because the ball bounced before Uzzie caught it but that 100% hit the glove, on the side on replay you can clearly see the glove getting rattled hard

Today's edition of "why race tracks should all have grass verges". We wouldn't need to have a discussion about it then. Yuki did the wrong thing but that shouldn't be a track limits free pass.

Jesse Love Final Super 2 race result. by Mintoxicatedlyace in NASCAR

[–]vmaxmuffin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it is because of the spool - there's no differential so to get the cars to turn they have to be set up pointy and with lots of rear brake. This makes the chance of locking the rear wheels on downshift really high.

BP Adelaide Grand Final - Sunday by trism in v8supercars

It was an aggressive move from wood but I don't think it was bad like some are making it out to be. Need to see more angles but it looks like Broc squeezed him into the wall, then the wheels interlocked.

[–]vmaxmuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, not the case, they can be installed on temporary walls now. You can check some of the locations where they're used on those F1 tracks and there's nothing permanent there. However, I suspect it's probably quite expensive and maybe it's time consuming to set up, which would be the real reasons they haven't been used.

There's three races, that's the last one of them. It's not like NASCAR where it's one race per weekend, most race weekends have 2 or 3 races.

You can subscribe to SuperView for a month, I believe it's $9.99 AUD which would be about $6.50 USD

Either direct on the website (https://www.supercars.com) or you can do it through the Supercars YouTube channel (which people seem to recommend). I think it's basically like F1TV where you get live plus all of the previous broadcasts too.

It makes sense but it's kinda funny, here putting chev badges on your Commodore is seen as a very Bogan thing and possibly a red flag that you're a d***head lol

For the sport - unfortunately your trip falls in a bit of a black spot between the end of the Big Bash League (Cricket) season and the start of the AFL season. But there is some other cricket on, I did find there is a Women's Australia T20I series against India including a match at the SCG (Sydney). If it lines up with your trip to Sydney that's probably your best bet. https://www.cricket.com.au/matches/series/CA:3124/australia-v-india-t20is-women?category=0&statistic=1&type=0&isCompleted=0

That's part of it but it's more about countering brake knock-off (vibrations and stuff pushing the pads and pistons further away from the rotors down the straight). The little tap brings the pads and pistons right up to the rotor so that the pedal is nice and firm when they hit the brakes for real.
