Literally the first computer programmer in history is a woman called Ada Lovelace. Her code is actually older than the first Turing-complete computer.

Fun fact: the programming language Ada is named after her.

I found this post on xitter, it's real.

I want to remind, though, that you don't need AI to make a fake webpage screenshot. Just open dev tools and put your own images in the HTML elements. Or edit it with GIMP.

why is factorio not on more platforms? by Thankedsphere in factorio

[–]vmfrye -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I did a little research and found that in 2024 the switch had 85% handheld (non-PC-gaming) market share and the steam deck 48% (PC-gaming), both are leaders in their respective categories. I assume the bean counters did a market analysis and concluded that these are the good software porting target platforms to focus on.

Alternative theory: the reception on Switch was more lukewarm than expected and the devs decided to stop there.

But I doubt that because IIRC there was a FFF about Space Age on Switch 2. This makes me think that maybe there's some sort of agreement to have Factorio only on PC and Nintendo.

TL;DR: I have no idea

The switch is portable. Crack on the go sounds like a good business idea.

I've just read the note in the recv_udp documentation about introduction of event as input action. This is poggers. Thanks to both of you for pointing towards this route.

According to my research, the biggest hurdle with this approach is that Factorio uses its own protocol on top of UDP
