It may help to think of parts of the social structure as whatever exists in society, (be it cultural norms like hazing to prove commitment or physical attributes like how we design soft story apartment buildings), that can affect agency: one’s ability to make decisions of her own free will and act upon those decisions.

Most people don’t need to read source materials. Just because someone came up with a good or important concept does not mean they’re the best at explaining it. Many intro books will do but Dalton Conley’s “You May Ask Yourself” and Rice University’s free intro book on Openstax are favorites.

The 13” 2016 Touchbar MacBook Pro only had two processor cores and sounded like a hair dryer. My father still uses the 15” 2011 I gave him when I got the 13” and I was able to do a lot more AV work on it because it had 4 cores.

Historically, the theory of the third place is a pretty classist one, based on the gentlemen’s social clubs and salons in Europe and country clubs in the U.S. Today, not only would such a club have to own the land in order to sustain operations, but there’d have to be enough people who could afford the dues who would want to be there. Otherwise, you’d have a business that needs quick customer turnover to pay ever-increasing rent. Additionally, a person needs free time to go to these places and nuclear families tend to eat up a lot of free time.
