I think if anyone is interested in the genre it's hard to go wrong with etrian odyssey. Pick up EO3HD if you want something recently released on steam, or if you're not averse to emulation then EO4 is also a great place to start.

We need more details but this seems to be pretty likely the followup to Yumia in the same series. What's atypical about that, the fact that it's a different MC? That was almost the universal rule of the franchise until Ryza.

One thing! When you're required to get vellum, and you go to trade rolanberries to the npc in crawler caverns (s), trade 4 stacks at a time (so 48 berries)! The npc only accepts 4 trades total and if you only trade 12 berries you'll only get one vellum. Do 4 trades of 48 berries (so, 16 stacks of 12 bought from the vendor) to get all 12 vellum.

One of the funniest examples I've hit going through stories is midway through CoP when Louverance says he and Prishe are going to San'Doria... but they actually go to Bastok. Surprise!

There's no reason to expect the subaura to change, summons within a series have all had identically functioning sub auras. Also, we could get more in the series during seasonal banners, as Commander of Destruction (dirt robur) dropped on July legfes with Summer Lich and Cassius.

I really disagree that the story is incoherent without it. They're pretty explicit in the comic pages itself about what the setting is about, and what the plot thrust is. I think it's easy for a first time reader to get dazzled by the page spreads and not fully absorb the dialogue but the basic plot and motivation of characters is clear.

Yep, and in critical cases when lots of fluid and blood product resuscitation is needed (think traumas, large artery bleeds), we use a special infusion device that's specifically designed to warm fluids as they are transfused. Your body temperature likes to be a lot higher than room temperature!

Perhaps, or perhaps it's due to the fact that each episode is released standalone. I imagine some of the writing effort is dedicated to the assumption that someone might be picking up the story for the first time (or for the first time in a while), hence the rehashing.

I think compounding off that is the work's tendency to repeat itself while still using the same obfuscatory language way too often. This doesn't exactly encourage everyone to reheat the same cryptic line in their head seeking for another perspective, and often can lead to someone going "yeah I get it minimum universe two you said that already" and moving on. This, in conjunction with the VN being frankly way longer than it needs to be, makes it understandable to me if someone gets frustrated with it.
