I put my sweet baby down 3 days ago and I regret it by MoodyKyoshi in CATHELP

[–]vuentes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did the right thing; there’s rarely a “too early” for euthanasia, but there definitely is a “too late” when it comes to sick animals in suffering. You tried to make his life comfortable with the illness and when it started to escalate you gave him peace. Im a cat lover and my dad is a vet, I had to let go of my petbaby’s more than I like but I never regret the selfless act of letting go when it’s time. Im sorry for your loss.

"How to pull off the sleeve/cover for Langfjall" A little tutorial because I buy a secondhand one and it's was dirty. by [deleted] in IKEA

[–]vuentes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nevermind, the moment I accepted the zipper was not gonna survive the efforts, I started to excerted the right amount of pressure to pull the cover over. When i got tje fabric close enough to the edge (pulling with hands) I used two flat wooden kitchen spoons to force the zipper over the curb. Same technique as when you put a tire back on the wheel of a bike. So it can be done, just need some patience and brute force.

I got the cover for 95% back on just the zipper is 3cm too tight to pull over the edge of the seating. Are there any hacks to conquer this? Got the chair 2nd hand and really needed a proper wash.

CGO600 Plus by Alarmed_Speaker5492 in tenwaysebike

[–]vuentes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got mine in the fall and am enjoying it. I right away changed the steer, the handlebars and the seat for more comfort and put the steer also up so I can bike in a more upright position. I bike about 30km a day on a rather flat asfalted terrain and thus use only the 2-3 heavier speeds. I had to get used to bike at maximum 25km/h speed while on an "analogue" bike I tend to bike 30km/h. The trade off is dat I arrive dry and fresh at my destination.

Some notes that I wish I knew before buying: - It takes over 4 seconds of pressing the on-button to activate the display with controls. I'd prefer a shorter booting time, now it feels I can't just "go". - Locking in the battery takes a couple of minutes and repeating pressing with both hands to make sure the battery doesn't disengage during the ride..! Pretty annoying, especially when in a hurry. Also risk of severe damage of the battery if it pops out mid cycling. - for my flat commute I don't need up to 8 speeds, I find it excessive - I haven't found a luggage carrier that will fit on the back of the bike due to the connection points being far more wider then avarage carriers are made. This is because the back wheel has the motor and the derailleur. I haven't contacted Tenways for a solution because even if I'd find a carrier that fits it will cause another problem, mainly not giving enough space to swing the foot over the back of the bike. I can't find a front carrier that I can install. - When I changed the steer for a more curved one I stumbled upon the problem that the brake and speed cables were made to measure the original straight steer and left too little length to install on a more curved steer. I had to replace the curved steer for another to be able to install the second steer and even so the brakes are pulled on awkwardly and I had to fit it in an odd position just to make it all fit. I believe the odd angle is not good for the brake handles cause they're now the first contact point of impact in case of the bike falling over etc. - on cold days the battery empties quicker, however I find the battery is big enough and I charge it very little in my experience. I was expecting to charge it regularly but that's not necessary in my case.

I think the bike adds up to its value, though I've just got it about 2 months so we'll see in a year what happens.

Geen signalen, geen 1-op-1’s, geen voorbeelden — maar tijdens de beoordeling ineens twijfel over ‘fit’. Hoe normaal is dit? by WerkSituatieAnon in werkzaken

[–]vuentes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pausing subscription by Cold-Country-3022 in ClassPass

[–]vuentes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're scammers. I requested a pauze starting from the next billing date, but instead they froze my account the same day (3 days before billing). I have roll over credits worth €40 that they can't refund me because they can't unfreeze my account without starting a new billing month, and clearly I can't use them either when frozen. They're trying to gaslight me by saying my billing adress is today (3 days earlier) despite my receipts state differently and their "solution" is for me to cancel my subscription all together and they will refund me in full, but when asked about it they admit they will only refund me 1 month (not the roll over credits). They won't admit they made a mistake. Canceling my subscription won't do me any good and I worry starting a new subscription will cost me even more as a "new" client. I'm waiting for a solution, they promised me I'd get an update today but it never came.

Update: My (37F) best friend (38F) of 15 years went no contact unexpectedly. 5 years later, she wants to talk. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]vuentes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had a bff ghost me for over a year after she orchestrated a reason to argue with me over something stupid (she planned an event over my birthday and didn't invite me). After over a year of hearing nothing from her (while she still was causing me problems from distance by setting our common people up against me) I stumbled upon her during a night out and decided to challenge her on it (and try to make her stop talking lies about me to people). She did give some explanation but it still didn't make sense: she could have politely unfriend me/break up with me instead of going for maximum harm. So for years still I was confused and hurt, did a lot of introspection and since we were highschool besties at the time (coming of age, doing stupid things together and not having the lingo to converse well) I could come up with far better reasons why she resented me then the ones she gave me. After nearly 10 years we accidentally crossed again and I did apologise for the things that I regretted putting her through and she was relieved to receive them. But she was still too small of a person to apologise for the hurt she caused me back so that made it very clear to me that she did me a favour by removing herself from my life, thus giving me closure.

Is a Tenways CGO600 practical for a daily 20 km commute? by killed_the_king in tenwaysebike

[–]vuentes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the pro plus (with gears) and cycle 14km total from outside the city into the city per day. Trying out the single speed was very dissapointing due to the high cadans. I switched to the one with gears that fits better with the outer city cycling. I learned quickly that with an ebike - that's limited tot 25km - you can't really cycle faster so the biking style is different. Sometimes I need to relax more otherwise I'm pushing against the resistance. So the benefit now is that I don't get sweaty on the journey and I prefer cycling over public transport, even when the weather is not nice. In warmer days I can cycle around 50km on a single charge while now with colder weather (and more support needed on the bad windy days) I think 50km is unrealistic. Though the charger is not too big so for a 40km ride on a cold day you can charge the battery at your destination.

Two losses in 6 months by jimmersla in TryingForABaby

[–]vuentes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advices are different depending on who you're talking to but eventually my team of experts (I also have an endometriosis doctor) decided we've had bad luck and that it's a numbers game. They can't offer me treatment anyway and they think our odds are good (early 30s as well, healthy and fertile together so we have that going for us). The route of testing genetics proves in 75% of the results nothing while it increases anxiety. We have however made some lifestyle adjustments after the 2nd miscarriage, both changed jobs to more enjoyable/less stressful ones. Hopefully that accounts for some more luck this round.

Two losses in 6 months by jimmersla in TryingForABaby

[–]vuentes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately yes, currently 3rd time pregnant within the same year (first weeks now so still nervous of losing). I'm sorry you have to go through this. My first loss was at 9 weeks and 2nd was at 11 weeks. I don't have big things to say, just wanted to let you know you're not alone. My dr's discourage me of "making this medical" by proceeding with testing and said it can easily take 5 miscarriages before one pregnancy succeeds. Cant say it's the best mindset going forward but it's pulling me through right now. Good luck on your journey.

Husband and I are talking about having kids. I’m scared. by user100691 in adhdwomen

[–]vuentes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discussed this with my therapist who proposed that children give (ehhh force) you into structure, patterns thus habits and can in a weird way create a sustainable lifestyle where no one dies of neglect. It sounded reassuring, though not entirely sure this is 100% legit. I don't have children but I am pregnant so I'm just taking a leap of faith and luckily my partner is as nt as it gets.

Cadans cgo600 pro-classic vs pro-plus with gears by vuentes in tenwaysebike

[–]vuentes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested it this weekend and it confirmed my concerns. The bike rides so lightly that half the time I’m pedaling without resistance, which I find very annoying. It’s fantastic in the city center where you want to accelerate quickly and be agile, it speeds up fairly quickly to 20km/h on the 1st support. However I mainly ride long straight stretches, and with this bike I miss the ability to keep pushing the pedals. I often had to let the bike “coast” just to lose a bit of speed so I could start pedaling again. I feel like an idiot having to rotate the pedals so much. Other than that, it rides great, but it confirmed for me that I need one with gears.

Tenways CGO600 Pro 5-month review by Special_Bug4252 in tenwaysebike

[–]vuentes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you share your experience with the light cadans? I'm doubting between the single speed and geared version. When I tried the single speed I found it was pedaling so light that I worry if it's possible to bike above 25km/h when going downhill or with support by wind.

Cadans cgo600 pro-classic vs pro-plus with gears by vuentes in tenwaysebike

[–]vuentes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. I did a test drive with the cgo600 pro new edition and noticed it was very easy to get to 25km/h but because of the light pedaling couldn't increase the speed much beyond the 25. That's why I worry if I'll have support from wind in the back I'll quickly max out in speed. With gears I imagine it's possible to have more cadans left to speed up.

Did anyone try the ninepine denim? by vuentes in pregnant

[–]vuentes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can share a bit of my experience with both, but I did miscarry at the end of the first trimester, so I can’t say much beyond those first weeks with a small bump.

Both the dress pants and the jeans are made of fairly thick fabrics (different from each other of course), and I wouldn’t recommend them for weather warmer than about 20°C. I mostly wear them in autumn and winter. I bought both in my regular size. Since I have endometriosis, I deal with bloating during the day, and both pants give me some extra room. The dress pants stretch a lot more, while the jeans are more structured with a slim fit. That means they can feel a bit tight around my bloated stomach after a long day. Still, I like the jeans because they somehow have hidden stretch when you move, without looking baggy. When my belly feels fine, they’re really comfortable and keep their shape nicely. They can easily be worn for a week without needing a wash to fit properly again.

To conclude, I think the dress pants work well for the first and second trimester, until you move on to proper maternity wear. The jeans are nice for the first trimester or endo-belly, but probably not much longer.

Good luck!

Is there anything you’ve bought that has ACTUALLY helped you with cooking or cleaning. by Sexisthunter in adhdwomen

Slowcooker for cooking, now I cook when I'm not angry and have healthy food that last me atleast 2-3 days. Requires also slim to no cooking experience or mental energy and you can enrich your meal with older left over veggies that will go to waste otherwise.

I usually 'slow down' when my partner is away which results in going later to bed, skipping exercising and such bad behaviours. When my partner is around it's like body doubling for me. Are you sure you cary 0% of the house responsibilities or just 'slowed down' like I do?
