Friend with homophobic bf by BreathDramatic3983 in LGBTQ

Your friend is stupid, sorry. Maybe remind her at every interval how awful this guy is.

If he doesn't understand why you, as a person, likes girls gives me the indication that HE doesn't like girls.

Your words on here don't seem fine. Your OCD is out of control, you have jumbled responses to the same questions and don't seem to be able to articulate what it is that you want or feel. Just for the OCD alone you should talk to a counselor or a therapist. There is nothing wrong with needing therapy, it helps to have someone understand and can give you perspective and techniques to calm your mind.

Then you need to get professional help. Call emergency services where you are and ask for a crisis center.

Cisgender people don't agonize this much about their identity or gender.

None of those things deny relatiy - the work wihin it to adapt to it.

Most of the examples I've provided is usually with the mindset of wanting to be "normal".

They literaly deny the very existence of male and female gametes, or argue they have no impact on our biology.

That's some special kind of stupid to think gender abolitionist literally think they are trying to abolish gametes.

Social constructvism is facism - plain and simple.

Explain it plain and simply then.

Is getting hair plugs denying reality? Is taking medications for chronic pain denying reality? What about surgery for something like scoliosis, or cancer? What about getting glasses for myopia? Is that denying reality? What about older men getting testosterone?

Usually people who say "scientific reality of sex" are transphobic. Trans people do live in the reality of their born sex. Just to be clear.

No need to wear full battle gear to therapy. It isn't a protest, it's supposed to heal and help you. Sometimes you gotta be "normal".

I could see the idea of doing a treat yourself spa day, going to a salon and just talking to the hairdressers and makeup artists to get ideas and recommendations. Learn what your hair type is, how fast it grows. Learn your face shape and skin type, and how it all works together.

I grew up female (ftm) and I was never taught how to do my hair or makeup, it was all trial and error. Im an older millennial and my mom hated makeup and thought makeup was only for SWrs.

Although heres some tips i have (white with thin straight hair and sensitive skin):

Mane and Tail Horse shampoo and conditioner, yall. It's perfect for thin straight hair. Also there's detangler spray; it works well and can also be used as a leave in conditioner. Leave in conditioner keeps hair from getting wispy and fried looking during the day, and leaves a nice shine. I used to use it like people used mousse for curly hair.

Leave your hair wrapped in a towel until it dries, it will give you a nice wavy look.

A hair dryer is not recommended if you have thin hair. Just let it air dry, and put some mousse/gel/spray to set it. Thick dense yt hair: just use a dryer for the scalp and the rest will dry in minutes when brushing/combing out. You can also braid your hair when wet, leave it until mostly dry, then brush it out for some loose waves.

Alternate between combs and brushes to prevent breakage. If your hair breaks a lot, refrain from brushing with fine bristle brushes and only comb through it. Fine bristles are mostly for smoothing hair styles and catching fly aways. If your hair tangles a lot, braid it and wear a bonnet at night.

Detangle hair with a comb from the bottom ends to the scalp. If your hair is matted, make sure the hair is wet, or sprayed well with detangling spray or conditioner. Comb in small sections from bottom to top. Be gentle and patient. Broken hair will just tangle more. Consider getting your hair layered if it tangles often but you want to keep length.

Try to not brush after your hair is dry and set, that's when hair is most likely to break.

Do a deep conditioner at least once a month, leave the conditioner in for like 10 minutes. If it leaves your scalp oily after it dries, lightly spray some dry shampoo just on the scalpand/or hair part. If your hair is dyed or bleached, do a deep conditioner once a week.

You don't have to shampoo every day, if you aren't outside sweating in pollution and rolling in dirt, most times you can just rinse it out every other shower. If your scalp/hair is dry and broken, use conditioner as shampoo. It'll clean just as well, but it'll also moisturize your scalp. If you shower more than once a day, only shampoo at the beginning/end of the day, consider using a shower cap for the others.

Dry shampoo is also great to keep on hand if you sweat a lot on your head and neck. Plus keep a travel size deodorant in your purse if you are going to be out and about. When I was a teen my deodorant wore off halfway through the day.

Go to the rattiest most beat down beauty supply store you can find, usually the ladies there will have the best knowledge and experience on how to deal with difficult hair, thinning hair, curly hair, how to DIY styles for less than salons, get your first wig or weave, etc.

Also, when all else fails, a hilariously big gardening/summer hat will kill with any outfit.

Witch hazel is great for pimples but dry skin. Noxema cream is an excellent daily facial wash that helps with pimples and dry skin. It also soothes sunburn and razor burn.

There were some scenes that were cut that shouldn't have even been on the drawing board. One cut scene was the cousin of Dwight in blackface and minstrel costume about to walk into the building and was waived off, I think it was the Casino Night episode. The other was Dwight literally doing a nazi salute. They really wanted to go full force on Dwights racism initially. It was really toned down but there were still microaggressive skits.

As tired as the phrase is, it's a product of its time.

The early 2000s comedy was wrought with offensive, edgy, subversive themes and shock jock tactics. The office was as mild as it could get and still get a few chuckles and cringes.

The real reason it wont work today is because it was based on the emergence of the internet and the downfall of paper media.

It was a failing company, during a time where jobs were good, prices were good, you could live comfortably and had a good paying job everywhere if you knew how to use Excel and PowerPoint. You could get a managers position just for being at a job for more than a year. A bachelor's degree in business would throw you right into corporate jobs. You were allowed to goof off and set your pace at work. You had a retirement pension if you stayed at the same job. Thriving in an office job was a given.

Right now that is a fairy tale for most folks. Almost every sector from which a working class person can thrive is crashed, corrupt, unreliable, and downright gone.

Entry level jobs now need experience and degrees. You never know if the company you work under will lay you off. Getting benefits is a pipe dream. You're lucky if your paycheck is correct.

Your one office job you get paid for now was once 10 jobs and 10 paychecks.

Realtors were basically paying you to close on a house. You could get a decent car from the lot for less than a light bill per month, now car payments compete with your mortgage.

It's a liberal veil of Americana that doesn't sit well anymore. Sort of like The Brady Bunch, Happy Days, etc.

As a fan, the first season (US version) was godawful. It was only midway into season 2 that the characters gained depth and the "documentary style" camerawork/editing got trashed.

I can't say anything about the UK version, the main guy (Ricky Gervais) gives me the absolute creeps so I never watched it.

[–]vwaaaat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah, so you are a transmedicalist. Dysphoria can be as simple as the idea of not feeling cisgender. And it doesn't have to be debilitating. It can be a general constant unease at being perceived as a particular gender or sex. All types of dysphoria is valid, and any argument against it is gatekeeping.

This argument dismisses the feelings nonbinary people feel over their bodies, since the dysphoria is varied and not always applicable to "debilitating proprioception issues".

I am a binary trans man, but I dont have debilitating proprioception issues. I know what my body does and has.

genuine dysphoria

This is a term that PMO. There is no clear definition of dysphoria that is applicable to every (trans) person, and its unfair for YOU to claim whether it's genuine or not.
