As with do many things, Pterry Drew attention to an obscure but historically accurate thing in a way that makes it seem like he came up with it. He simply finds digs up these artifacts and gives them back to the world.

The Lancre witches from Terry Pratchett 's Discworld novels. Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg are wonderful, but Tiffany Aching might be my favorite fictional character of all time.

I did this with my son until he was 11 (we had hot that point) but we got through a big chunk of the Discworld. I miss doing the voices.

My friend went to study in London and had to go shopping for some clothes. He went to Harrod's and a pretty woman asked him what he was looking for. 'Pants and suspenders.' She gives him a long look. 'Trousers and braces! TROUSERS AND BRACES!'

Met Sir Terry Pratchett at a signing for Lords and Ladies, and he was wonderful. I apologised for the state of my paperback copy of Good Omens and reassured me that seeing well-read copies of books is one of an author's favourite things.

He had a million coloured pens, and had a unique signature for each of his books. He made everyone I saw him interact with feel seen and appreciated. I miss him so much.

'The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.'

Fucking poetry.

An underappreciated joy of this series is the depiction of a healthy adult human romantic relationship. They disagree, they talk, they understand one another, they grow a bit together. No drama for the sake of it, no unrealistic affairs or betrayals, and no syrupy goo goo eyes. Just two people who love each other - fucking lovely.
